Black Tuesday in Akokwa: One shot dead, women cry, as Okorocha destroys market, houses in Akokwa Viewer discretion is adviced. Today (13th February, 2018) can best be described as Black Tuesday in Akokwa, Ideato North LGA of Imo state where Rochas Okorocha demolished properties, market and means of livelihood of the people. As at the time of filing this report, the Orie Market had been entirely demolished. Young and old women in their hundreds were seen weeping before the statue of Virgin Maria at St. Barnabas Catholic Church. A young man whose only property is his rickety residential hut which had been demolished was seen crying uncontrollably. Everywhere is in a chaotic mess. Military personnel and Mobile Policemen are stationed at strategic places within the community. A corpse which is profusely bleeding possibly from gunshots is seen along Arondizuogu Road. It has been identified faintly as an only son whose mother died two years ago. This is the situation in Akokwa right now. This is the bile, the poison served them by their governor today. |
