President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed belief that Nigeria’s existence as one united country is a divine arrangement and "nothing should be done to put it asunder."

President Buhari, according to a statement by his spokesman Mr Femi Adesina, said this on Wednesday while felicitating with Christians in the country on the solemn occasion of the commencement of this year’s Lenten season.

Buhari urged Christian brothers and sisters, as they joined their counterparts worldwide in emulating the worthy example of Jesus Christ who fasted at the beginning of his earthly ministry, to pray fervently for Nigerian unity and progress.

President Buhari also enjoined all Nigerians to intensify love, brotherliness and concern for the less privileged members of their communities in order to strengthen the bond of togetherness.

As Christians began the period of increased prayers, piety, sacrifice and selfless services, the president wished them and all Nigerians well.

It's intellectual laziness to say that the creation of Nigeria was divine, it's not.

Nigeria was created by the British to serve their economic interest vis-à-vis the exploitation of resources.

When they left, they deliberately handed over to the Fulanis to continue the slavery through their proxy.

Nigeria was created divided ,will never progress as a nation, what is keeping it is the common greed of the elites.

This is not a country but a geographical expression where the western countries come and get natural resources from.

THE LAND OF THE RISING SUN MUST SET FORTH AT DAWN

What makes a country united are justice, equlity, rule of law for everyone, equal opportuinities, sense of belonging which leads to die hard patrotism. What we have in the country now is complete opposite. Preaching about unity is not the best way to achieve it...government most be seen to ensure justice is done.

For instance when has the below killer herdsmen who killed people in Nimbo Enugu state in 2016 sentenced?

Buhari and his style of governance are the no.1 stimulant for speedy break up of Nigeria.

It's amazing he failed to realize that or possibly he's pretending.

Oh...i almost forgot he's in a trance according to prof. Soyinka cheesy
