COACH: Des Buckingham

STAR PLAYER: Sarpreet Singh

It is the fifth consecutive U20 World Cup featuring the Junior All Whites, who have established themselves as the main power in the Oceania region.

The Kiwis have only ever reached the round-of-16 – a stage they exited at in the last two tournaments – and will be keen to again progress to the knockouts despite being drawn in a tough group featuring Uruguay, Norway and Honduras.

The squad features two established A-League players from Wellington Phoenix in talented playmaker Sarpreet Singh and wing-back Liberato Cacace.

Goalkeeper Michael Woud is on the books of Eredivisie club Willem II and made his senior debut for the club on March 29 and keep an eye out for promising striker Ben Waine, who impressed in a late-season cameo for the Phoenix.

Midfielders: Joe Bell, Willem Ebbinge, Eli Just, Dane Schnell, Sarpreet Singh, Leon van den Hoven, Dom Wooldridge, Trevor Zwetsloot

Runners-up at the 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, Senegal were perhaps the most exciting team to emerge from that tournament in Niger.

Metz striker Ibrahima Niane represents the player within their squad with the most senior experience, but keep an eye out for Moussa Ndiaye, who at the age of just 16 was named Player of the Tournament at the aforementioned Cup of Nations earlier this year.

STAR PLAYER: Andri Syahputra

With the senior side having won the Asia Cup earlier this year and Qatar acting as hosts of the World Cup itself in just over three years, there is a hope that this tournament will further boost their chances of causing a shock come 2022.

This is just the fourth time they have qualified for the Under-20 World Cup, with much of their hopes resting on Indonesian-born forward Andri Syahputra.
