The President is not under any obligation for financial disclosure of the cost of his treatment. Whoever that wants to know must be wishing to be afflicted by same illness.

Modified

In medicine, there is this phenomenon called patient-docyor relationship. Except you can show that all that is related to the illness affects you one way or the other, you cannot seek knowledge about the illness. The constitution realises this hence there was no provision for such disclosure. That you have internet and unwarranted freedom doesn't give you the right to troll our President on such personal issues.

sir, this is a straw man argument. the information required is the amount it cost tax payers to fund Buharis treatment. the plaintiff in question is a taxpayer. hence he has a locus standi here. Doctor patient relationship doesn't come in, no one is talking to his doctors here.

More sensible response. Now question is whether the man is a taxpayer. Or are we just assuming he is. Also has the medical bill of a President or of any relation been so sought after before and actually disclosed.

Ignorance is when you don't know what obtains in other fields. Seeking to know the bill for his treatment, implies that PMB is likely indigent and unable to pay his bills. Arr you offering to offset his medical bill. If not, why are you insistent on the issue. The constitution abundantly provides for the medical bills of presidents, ex-presidents and their respective families. Many presidents or their wards have procured medical treatment abroad without Nigerians batting an eyelid, but rather they showed empathy for the afflicted ones e.g Babangida, Yaradia, PEJ, Stella Obasamjo, Maryan Babangida. Did you ever demand for their medical bills. The constitution never provides for disclosure. The alternative, if you are so pained to the point of paranoi, is to approach the medical facility where he was treated for disclosure.

Sir, then what is the function of the FOI act? Public funds was spent to foot his medical bills, so the public can invoke the FOI to know how it’s govt spent tax payers money on a particular matter.

Why are you trying to justify a no case here. Buhari is a public official that was treated with public funds. And a law abiding tax paying registered organization is seeking information under the FOI to disclose a public information.

Besides, because a matter had not been raised about another individual doesn’t mean that matter if raised on this present individual should not be honored. It’s just like you saying because Jonathan didn’t try a corrupt official, they why should Buhari also try him in court.

Sorry to burst your bubble. With buhari's bossom friends who are Fulanis at all the very important post, including INEC,they've already finished rigging the election. Only a mass protest will stop them.

What you just said showed that you are ignorant about financial cost and ailment. If Mr. President used his own money Nigerians have no right to question him but it is not so in this matter, this is taxpayers money and Nigerians have all the right to know. There is a reason the freedom of information act was in our constitution. Just note that a financial transaction between a hospital and taxpayers on behalf of citizen is not in anyway doctor/patient confidentiality.

I was planning a protest before I realized that there will be another counter one from a rented crowd tagged "I stand with Buhari".

CBN is either I'm afraid. The cost of maintaining the presidential jet and other costs while in the UK, came from security funds such as was recovered from NIA recently. That's what they're meant for. CBN job is to release from the budgetary allocation. Security votes are not auditable I'm afraid undecided

d topic of discussion here isn't "patient-doctor relationship".its about d fact that d CBN released monies 4d expenses of d presidents 103day in d UK. D activities of d CBN are covered under FOI Act which any citizen of Nigeria can activate in order 2 obtain info regarding d activities of d bank. If it was a " personal issue" as u claim, did d president use his personal money 2 fund his trip, expenses 4 his staff&his treatment in d uk?if it was personal, who paid 4d presidential jet sitting at a uk airport 4 days? As long as he used public funds, then its not improper 4 any Nigerian to ask 4 accountability
