Is there any lawful possession of human parts?

There is. For example if the deceased had agreed to donate his corpse for medical research or medical/anatomy studies.
Another is if the authorities had ordered human tissue preserved for forensic studies.

If relatives of the dead donor become aware only after his death, they might seek to have the body or parts buried. A court will most likely rule that possession of the body or parts is legal. As long as the donation or preservation was done according to law.
