Good evening everyone.

Please I'll like if you can provide me with materials or any information on my field work for Oral African Literature. The topic is Legends in Lagos Island(Isale Eko).

I've checked Google and it doesn't seems to be helping out. I'm considering visiting the palace where I might have access to a rich knowledge of the culture but I know the true children of the soil, and erudite historians on Nairaland will also be of great help in wowing my lecturer.

Legend, according to Wikipedia, "is a general of folklore thy consist of a narrative that features human actions perceived both by teller and listeners to take place within human history and demonstrating human vakues, and which possesses certain qualities that give the tale verisimilitude."

What I need help with is information on this categories of legends:

1. Historical: places of great importance with legendary stories attached to it.
2. Personal: Important figures in the history of Lagos Island.
3. Spiritual/Religious: traditional stories about miracles, revelations, answers to prayers, etc
4. Supernatural: vampires, witches, fairies, little people, zombie, creation stories.


Please when you consider helping me(TIA), help me restrict it to LAGOS ISLAND(this is very important).

I'm available to read any materials you guys will recommend.
