The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmoud Yakubu on Friday said a panel has been set up to investigate the alleged issue of underage registration and voting in Kano State.

Mahmoud who revealed this during a workshop in Lagos said he believes that the commission’s register is not compromised.

The decision to investigate the issue came after pictures of underaged voters in Kano State were circulated on social media. The images show children participating in the local council elections conducted across Kano State last weekend.

These pictures sparked reactions from Nigerians with many blaming the electoral umpire for irregularities.

That is koko of the matter and any committee without capacity to do that is useless.

And Mahmoud claimed INEC register is not compromised? So where do those minors seen voting got their voters cards.

The only time we will have free, fair and credible elections is when it'll be organized and supervised by foriegn developed countries, until then, this status quo remains.

Do we really needed any committee in this obvious issue? Another clever,smart attempt to sweep it away,l can bet with you the c'tte report would never see the light the day...

Like I've always said, the best way to sweep a matter under the carpet in Nigeria is to set up a committee.
