Kogi State commissioner of finance and economic development, Alhaji Asiwaju Idris, has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari will run and win the 2019 presidential election.

Asiwaju, who revealed this to journalists in Lokoja shortly after the APC Mega rally, said Kogi State was for Buhari. Speaking on boast by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that it was back on track, Asiwaju said the APC will emerge as winner again.


He said: “Let me say it clearly and loudly that President Buhari will, by the Grace of Almighty Allah, remain the occupant of the Presidential Villa. By the Grace of Almighty Allah, he will contest and he will win resoundingly.


“The confidence reposed in Buhari and Governor Bello by ordinary kogites had remained unshaken because the president and the governor, according to him, are doing what they want,” he said.

He said despite the rot met on ground when the APC took over government in 2015, the current administration has quickly addressed itself to clearing the rot and delivering on election promises made to Nigerians during the campaigns.


"Let me reiterate it that Kogi State is for Buhari. Kogites believe in him and are already working for him. He will win hands down in Kogi State. Our political leaders, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the executive governor of Kogi State and many others are at work and the result is now visible to the blind and audible to the deaf." Asiwaju Said.


Also speaking was, Mrs Fayomi Ajayi, who said: “ Today's rally is a very unique occasion because we have made a statement. Ordinarily, some of us have been in politics for long time and when you have endorsements, there are always dissenting voices maybe one or two but among every single member, there was not one dissenting voice and I think that is very important.

“So, we are here today as stakeholders across all the Local Governments in Kogi State to make a call to president Buhari and our performing governor Yahaya Bello seeking for them to run again in 2019. We will give them unflinching support and have them re-elected overwhelmingly as president and Governor in 2019,” Fayomi said.

The governor is not sure of sit beyond 2019 how much more securing victory for APC at the presidential.

It's even hard enough for a governor to serve two consecutive terms in Kogi.
