I am curious to know the implications of inscribing "military zone" on a building to ward off criminals from the property. is it an issue of impersonation when found out?

Am looking at it from the fact that I did not explicitly claimed to be a military personnel. won't a military friend of mine who comes to visit time to time suffice to be called a military zone.

You will be entitled to that designation only if your friend is there in official capacity and his rank warrants such designation. A recruit or other low ranking officer cannot wake up and declare their abode a military zone without full backing with force. Same way the US Air force only designates the aircraft the president flies in Airforce1 when he's on board. It reverts to status quo when he goes off it. Declare your house a military zone also puts you in more danger than safety. Anybody coming to attack you comes heavily armed rather than less and at the end you turn yourself into a sitting duck.
