The founder of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and now leader of the Biafra Independence Movement(BIM), Chief Ralph Uwazurike, has advised federal government to jettison the restructuring agenda and instead divide the country into six republics if it’s committed to addressing the lingering crisis confronting Nigeria.

Uwazurike, according to a statement issued through his Director of Information, Mazi Chris Mocha, gave the advice during a meeting with pro-Biafra stakeholders in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

According to Uwazurike, the ideas being put forward in the name of restructuring Nigeria, especially the proposed creation of state police would not proffer lasting solution to the country’s constitutional crisis.

Uwazuruike, who was represented at the meeting by Mocha, stated that the insecurity in Nigeria was the signs of the anger of God,adding that restructuring or state police could not solve any of her problems because, “there is deep-rooted hatred among the different nationalities in the country.”

The hatred, Uwazuruike explained, was evident why zoning the presidency gives some people, particularly the North, some nightmare.

“Before I redeclared the new Biafra struggle in 1999, I remembered that the late former head of state of the defunct Biafra, Dim Ojukwu, had led a delegation of Igbo politicians and traditional rulers on September 16, 1994 to Abacha’s Aso Rock where they demanded that the power base in the political arena in Nigeria berotated so that all the federating units, regions or zones would havea sense of belonging and thus galvanise a strong patriotic and a unitednation which forms the bedrock of democracy.

“The Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba agenda to keep the South East permanently outside the presidency is the open secret,” Uwazuruikedeclared.

He reiterated his earlier call that Nigeria should be divided into six republics.

In another development, he condemned the harassment of his members by Motorcycle Transport Union of Nigeria (MUTN), in Anambra.

Uwazuruike also cautioned officials of motorcycle transport and tricycle operators’ union against extortion andconstant harassment of his members.

Uwazuruike, who handed down the warning to BIM-MASSOB members, however,admitted there is cordial relationship existing between his followers in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state with the tricycle and Okada unions, warning that he would no longer tolerate the manner theunion’s taskforce on revenue drive constantly molest, intimidate andextort money from his members at Nkpor, in Idemili North council Areaf Anambra State.

He stressed that BIM-MASSOB members as freedom fighters, and as greatmen with honour deserve some respect.
The pro-Biafran agitator arguedthere could be no immediate solution to the country’s problems because of unaddressed injustice in Nigeria.

He opined that God has hardened the hearts of National Assembly members and Abuja politicians over the sufferings of the masses.
