Archaeologists Have Found First-ever Evidence Of A Legendary Biblical Prophet by Gangster1ms: 3:27pm On Feb 23, 2018
Researchers have found an ancient clay seal from around the time he was reportedly alive, marked with the Biblical figure Isaiah's name. Called a bulla, the seal was retrieved from a 2,700-year-old midden in the Ophel, dating it to around 8th century BCE, and it's inscribed with the Jewish prophet's name. It was found just 3 metres from where the bulla of King Hezekiah of Judah, to which Isaiah was an adviser, was found in 2015.

The bulla, sadly broken, is about a centimetre (0.4 inches) in diameter, stamped with the name Yesha'yah[u] (Isaiah) in Hebrew letters. Following it were the letters NVY, which are the first three letters of the Hebrew word for prophet, which is spelled nun-beit-yod-aleph. Whether or not the aleph was present is impossible to determine, since the bulla is broken after the yod. But if it had been, the seal would have read, in its entirety, "Isaiah the Prophet."

"The absence of this final letter ... requires that we leave open the possibility that it could just be the name Navi," lead author Eilat Mazar said. "The name of Isaiah, however, is clear." The seal could have belonged to some other Isaiah hanging around at the time, since the name was a common one, and bullae commonly reference the signatory's father. Isaiah's father was not Navi, but Amoz.

However, if the bulla does refer to Isaiah the Prophet, it would constitute the first evidence for his existence outside of religious texts, including the Bible, where his exploits are described in the Book of Isaiah.

Even the report clearly shows that this is a conjecture. They are assuming that a seal that contains a name Isaiah which is a popular Jewish name might be that of Isaiah the prophet even though they concluded that there is no enough evidence. But as the lie lie and spinner that you are you have concluded that the bible is true because some assumptions which they article clearly stated was made. Well done.

Yet there was evidence of King Hezekiah who was unearthed in 2015 and Isaiah was his prophetic adviser.

Maybe king Hezekiah was also a conjecture. It would make sense that Isaiah is seal would be found near his own and from the provides link it says,

Although the bulla can't constitute definitive proof that Isaiah existed, it's still an extraordinary find, Mazar said. Its proximity to the bulla of Hezekiah and the fact that only persons of status used bullae at least opens the very plausible possibility that the seal belonged to the Biblical Isaiah.

It's still mythical right? cheesy

I just read the report again. It is even clear from the report that the name is not that of Isaiah of the Bible.

From the report:

But as always our resident Mr lie lie will always come and say something else.

It says "could have". However the reason why they are leaning more toward it being for the biblical Isaiah is due to the fact that it was found just 3 meters from that of King Hezekiah who Isaiah was an adviser to. grin

Maybe King Hezekiah was also mythical cheesy

Try to read and understand. grin

Mr "the Bible is a mythical book" e go do you vaam for eye.

Even if we agree that Isaiah existed, it still doesn't discount the fact the many of the things written inside the book of Isaiah and the bible as a whole are mythical and fictional. Let's go to the book of Isaiah and see these mythology on full display.

13:19 "And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

13:20 It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.

13:21 But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.

13:22 And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

These verses from Isaiah very clearly talks about mythical creatures like the satyrs and dragons as if they were real.

We all know that dragons and satyrs are mythical beings.

A dragon is a legendary creature, typically scaled or fire-spewing and with serpentine, reptilian or avian traits, that features in the myths of many cultures around world.

LMAO so now the Bible Ian mythical but some writings in it are? grin

Yesterday you were dragging the word Shamayim which is the Hebrew origin for the word heavens and today you are talking about dragons without first looking at the Hebrew origin before calling it a myth. grin

Why don't you for once show some true intelligence and look for the Hebrew word from which "dragon" was translated from so as you get the context from there rather than reading at face value as you always do when you wish to be dishonest cheesy

These are all the translations of Isaiah 13:22 below

The Hebrew word for dragon is tannin or tannim and research them and see if you are right or wrong.

Which context? A mythical creature was talked about as if it were real and you are trying to hide behind the original Hebrew word as an excuse abi?

These are all the translations of Isaiah 13:22 below

Clearly we can see that the different bible translations are totally confused. It doesn't even sound as if the different translations are talking about the same thing.

Some say Hyenas and Jackals , others say Hyenas and wolves, some say Wild beats and Wolves, another says owls and Jackals while some say wild beats and Dragons. grin

Ordinary translations sef don cause confusion. Yahweh can not even inspire people to translate his word properly into the English language. Na wah oo. This Yahweh God so much loves confusion.

Even though the main King James version does not mention dragons I will work with your angle.

More lies from Mr lie lie. The king James version mentioned dragon.

Tannin (Hebrew: תנין‎) or Tunannu (Ugaritic: Tnn, vocalized tu-un-na-nu) was a sea monster in Canaanite, Phoenician, and Hebrew mythology used as a symbol of chaos and evil.
