Ride-hailing apps are getting more popular in Nigeria, and here comes the newest, Gokada. This time, it is about demanding for motorcycles, popularly known as ‘Okada’ in the country and not cars. Are you surprised?

PageOne.ng understands that the app launched earlier in the week, and it is currently being tested in Yaba, mainland area of Lagos, South West Nigeria.

Owners of the business said Gokada is a technology company focused on changing the face of transportation in Nigeria starting with an on-demand motorcycle taxi service in order to solve some of the country’s most challenging problems in logistics and transportation.

It is true that getting around the Lagos metropolis can sometimes be frustrating owing to traffic jams and complex road networks across the city. Moreso, with the rate at which the government is undertaking road construction within the city, one may say it is a perfect timing for the Gokada team.

The company also said it aims to help millions of passengers across the country rethink how they move by providing a safe and affordable engine for smart mobility.

The Gokada app is available on Playstore for download but only available for use to individuals who have invites.
