Be Careful Nigerians, Especially If You're In Edo State.. by Tender1(m): 2:33pm On Mar 01, 2018 |
Be careful Nigerians. Especially those in Edo state. On our way from Auchi to Ekpoma Today. We were stopped by the police and thoroughly searched even up to our phones, from our contacts to pictures, including whatsApp and Facebook. We were all group according to what they found in our mobile phones. Those having translator app, Those with foreign numbers, Those having white man or woman pictures. Unluckily I fell on foreign numbers. When I told them it was my uncle's number, if you see the kinda slap I received, then I've to stay mute. And they laid allegation on me that I'm a fraud star. So they called my uncle's number after some beaten, and his number off, they finally wore me handcuff. Immediately I started begging and a man from the other car came to my rescue and spoke to one of the police man at the conner so they can leave me, they later came up with if I've N10k, they'll set me free. Unfortunately I only had 4.8k. I told them I had no money on me. The man offered to pay for me. I was released with a promise to pay the man when we get to Ekpoma. On getting to ekpoma Now, the man told me to help him carry his load to his house, I did because of the help he had rendered to me earlier. On our way to his house after an hour I asked him, where's your house? He keeps telling me at the front until I ceased to go further. Immediately the man brought out a red handkerchief to wipe the sweat on his face and trying to do same to mine of which I refused. Then I dropped the load and started running away, he stopped a bike and ran after me calling me thief, so I stopped running and on getting to me, he made a statement that "today I go tell you say me and the police wey b catch you today be one". Then I got to know it was a plan work with the Police. I quickly called a friend of mine to bring along 10k to meet me at Moscow junction in Ekpoma. After paying this man within a minute this man was nowhere to be found. In conclusion, I believed those police I met earlier work with ritualists or kidnappers. Beware and be careful. These police men are always along Auchi Ekpoma road. That's immediately aviele when coming from Auchi. I beg be careful Nigerians. Especially those in Edo state. I pray God almighty protect us all. This story reminds me of an experience that I underwent whilst driving one Sunday morning in another part of Nigeria. I was driving along a lonely stretch of road in a rural area, when I noted in my rear-view mirror a small car that seemed to be in a hurry and anxious to overtake my car. I felt no threat, and was in no hurry that day, so I moved to the right to give the car more room to pass by. As the car overtook me, it slowed down in front of me, instead of maintaining its previous speed, and then, someone in the car started pointing at my tire, and motioning me to pull over and stop, as though there was a problem with my tire. Knowing that the old trick of alerting motorists to a non-existent tire problem is a staple tactic used by armed robbers and kidnappers, I acted stupid and started to slow down, all the while watching the car as it positioned itself in front of my car to block my path. As both cars slowed down further, I observed three doors opening slightly ajar, all at once, and at the same instant, I spotted the unmistakable muzzle of an AK47 rifle poking out one of the back doors. With my fears confirmed, I stomped on the accelerator, unleashing the brutal power of the highly tuned 5-liter, M119 Mercedes V8 engine fitted in my crappy-looking car, whilst swerving violently back into the road and launching my old Mercedes into full gonzo flight mode, accompanied by a throaty roar and a chirp of the back tires as the transmission harnessed the ensuing tempest. The car that attempted to intercept me was no match for my V8 Merc in the speed department, and some wild driving later, I left that car in the dust along that country road. A couple of miles later, I neared a police station, and decided to report that robbers were right behind me, in the hopes that an ambush could be hurriedly set up to light up that car with some corrective gunfire. I stopped in front of the police station, and frantically called out to the men outside the station to prepare an ambush. I gave a quick description of the pursuing car, but then was totally unprepared for the response that I was given. The policeman informed me that the car I had just described was full of POLICEMEN, and not robbers. Before I could gather my wits and take off again, the car showed up in front of the police station, and parked right in front of my vehicle's front bumper, eliminating all prospects of a second escape. The four armed policemen who emerged from that car were ALL heavily drunk on Ogogoro local gin, and to cut a long story short I emptied my pockets to gain my freedom, as the men waved their loaded guns in my face in a most disconcerting manner. It was later after I had left that police station that I realized how stupid I had been to stop there in the first place, yet also how lucky I was, that I stopped in a public place, and not out where there were no witnesses to what would have happened to me had I pulled over when the first attempt was made to force me off that desolate road. Looking back on that day, I remain absolutely convinced that those policemen were also kidnappers, operating either for ransom, or for body parts, and that I was only one error away from winding up dead in the bush, never to be seen again. The moral of my story is that if ever your car is being pursued by another vehicle of ANY description anywhere in Nigeria, do NOT make the mistake of seeking sanctuary in any police stations that you pass along your escape route, so as to avoid falling right back into the hands of your pursuers, which could very well result in an outcome far less palatable than the one I experienced that day. 5 Likes 1 Share |
