Nice subtle 'shade'! However, kindly reason beyond the story to understand that this is a subtlle means of encouraging individuals to contribute to quality education in whatever way they can. I look forward to hearing your little contribution to quality education in Nigeria. It will definitely go a long way in impacting people's lives. Thank you.

I already have my PVC. However, the election of a new president isn't ENOUGH JUSTIFICATION that the government ALONE will be able achieve the goal of Quality Education before 2030. That's why your little contribution is still very much needed.

Feet or foot..
I clearly understood what he was saying.
You can choose to use your word as you dim it fit. That doesn't make it incorrect. Why do we have figure of speech then.
Baba... "Quality education my foot" I support you. you choose not to use the standard or regular way to express yourself. It's called being creative with word and tenses.

That has very little to do with education, and more to do with parenting.

Unfortunately, if this girl grows up around the sort of misogynistic males that are all over this forum, she will learn to be quiet when a man is endangering everyone because it is not her place to talk.

This kind of stuff should equally be learnt at home as it isn't purely academics.

Every balanced home with informed parents should reach their child stuffs like this.

I seem not to remember which country..
Maybe Japan or so.
The first thing the children are taught in school for their formative year are manners, respect, tolerance and the likes..
Nothing like alphabet and numbers...
This is a good way to train up children especially since some parent may not be up to the task themselves.

I agree with you. Education isn't just the four walls of a classroom. Everyone has a contribution to make; formally or informally.

That isn't her picture. It was a picture gotten from Google search to complement the story. Nevertheless, the story is only a subtle means of encouraging individuals to contribute to quality education no matter how trivial or little the contribution may seem. Thank you.

7:00am!!!

I jumped up from my bed just same way you realise you weren’t urinating in the toilet in your dream, rather, you just BED WETTED IN REAL LIFE!

Preparing by 7am for work that starts by 8am made me realise that God bestowed the ‘fast’ skill on me even better than what he bestowed on Usian Bolt.

7:15am – I saw myself boarding a keke (Tricycle) to where I can get a bus straight to the office. Oh my God! I just repented yesterday from giving flimsy excuses for late coming and I have already seen myself backsliding today! Struggles of being perfect……sigh! No thanks to the Lagos Traffic for contributing to my late coming.

I hurriedly took a peep at my fellow passengers in the Keke. Seated by my left was a young girl on her way to school who probably was still in primary school. While on my right was a young man who I guess was in the same ‘late’ situation with me.

Suddenly, the Keke driver’s phone rang, he picked the call as he kept on driving. I noticed the young girl beside me became uneasy and poked the driver. The driver felt the young girl has reached her destination, so he ended the call and stopped the Keke so she can come down.

I am not coming down here! The young girl claimed

‘Okay’ said the keke driver as he drove off.

The driver’s phone rang the second time. He picked the call and kept driving. Immediately, the young girl gave the driver a slight blow that made him stop swiftly.

Shey you talk say you never reach where you go drop, why you come dey disturb me? The driver queried.
“STOP TALKING ON THE PHONE WHILE DRIVING. DO YOU WANT TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT? WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS VERY WRONG! – she retorted

A strange silence filled the keke immediately. Seconds later, the other passenger and I wore a bright smile on our faces. “Well done, girl! I am proud of you”, I said in my thought.

I couldn’t help but ponder on what happened in the Keke as I entered the office by 8:30am,! By the way, I came to work before my supervisor, so I had no one to query me. Yay! God gat my back, in fact, my whole body.

Back to the matter; what the young lady did in the Keke is what many of us overlook. I am so proud of the school she attends and her ability to practice what she learns. This shows the level of quality education the young girl receives in school and even at home.

This also shows that there is hope for the future of Nigeria. Imagine if all the children in Nigeria get quality education, what a powerful economy Nigeria will become.

There are many children out there that do not have anyone to put them in a quality and affordable school due to various reasons. We aim at achieving the Sustainable Development Goal of Quality Education in Nigeria by 2030. Hope you aren’t hoping on the government, because government cannot achieve this alone, it is you and I that can make this happen.

Hope you aren’t hoping on the government, because government cannot achieve this alone, it is you and I that can make this happen.

Here are some suggestions that could help us achieve this
1. Sponsor a child through school (To tertiary level or beyond)
2. Improve the quality service delivery of a school by volunteering to teach the students,
3. Endeavour to get QUALIFIED STAFF (Owners and managers of schools)
4. Make sure your academic curriculum is up-to-date (Owners , managers and teachers of schools)
5. Ensure students what they are being taught (Teachers and Parents)
6. Donate or contribute massively to improve the quality of a school (such as donating classroom equipment, giving scholarships to outstanding students, renovating a school etc)
7. You could build a school that offers quality and affordable or free education

A big thank you to all those who in one way or the other have and is still contributing to Quality Education in Nigeria.

Op, nice story. But you seem to lay 100% emphasis on formal education. Informal education at home too will boost the child's confidence. A wrongly brought up child will be timid no matter how good his or her school is.
If you doubt me, come and see my neighbour's daughters. They don't even know that they should say good morning to you. Yet the older one said she jumped classes because of her brilliance. I bet she won't do what that child did in the Keke.

You are very right. Your contribution must not be to formal education. That's why I insist that everybody has a part to play. Contribute no matter how little, be it formal or informal.

Do you live in Lagos all? School girls board keke by thier selves as early as 6 am sad
naturalwaves:
The OP lied about the story. How come a school girl will be all by herself in a Napep with strangers? The parents need to be flogged considering the risks of kidnapping and all. Moreover, the kind of quality education the OP is referring to wasn't displayed in the story. Parents who can afford a good school for a child should be able to afford a school bus at least if they won't be able to take her to school. If true, then the the child must be in one of these mushroom schools but I can beat my chest that the story was made up. Although, some people may want to argue that not all good schools are expensive but the question is..... What is a good school? A good school does not only care about academics but other provisions as well. A good school will never allow school children to turn in on OKADAS and Keke NAPEPS because they understand the risks and guide against it.
