Re: George Weah wears Nigerian suit by Emeka Oparah of Ethelberts in Abuja

It is only professional and appropriate for me to rebut a story published today and now trending on Nairaland by a blog, National Helm, to the effect that President George Weah of Liberia was dressed in a Made-in-Aba suit made by Ethelberts Clothing.

While there is nothing wrong with made-in Nigeria suit, there is something very wrong in passing off an outfit whose source or origin is unknown to Ethelberts Clothing as our work. Besides, we make our clothes in Lagos-not Aba!

To put the records straight, as makers of high-end Nigerian custom menswear, we were given the rare the privilege of meeting with President Weah in Abuja during his recent visit to Nigeria.

We did NOT make the suit he wore in the photos which were taken from our Facebook page without permission. As a matter of fact, we are yet to launch our highly fashionable Ankara suits, which are currently in Research and Development stage.

I have spoken with the author of the story, who clearly acted with good intention but, by his admission, failed to apply all the professional principles required in writing such a story based on a couple sentences and two photos we posted on Facebook page.

We regret all inconveniences this wrong story may have caused His Excellency, President George Weah.

Signed
