Niaralanders, i need help, some one offered to sell me a toks Golf 4 for =N=550k, i sense something fishy about this offer. i say this because he emailed me the pix of the car which i ve uploaded below (very neat right? and an auto transmission at that), he stated every info about the car, i haved searched for a toks golf on every nigerian auto advert website including nairaland and all the golf 4 i've seen are all above 900k (for a Manual Drive) and above 1million (for auto transmission) and then out of the blue, some one is offering me one for about half the average price i see online, is it that prices posted for cars on Nairaland are outrageously high or am i about to be yahooed?

Its quite cheap at that price, but have you checked the mileage and also is the car within area you can reach? If yes!, take a good mechanic there to inspect the engine, drive it around and make sure its not having any mechanical fault. Also check the import documents if all is ok go ahead a pay. Its a dash for you! But if its not withing your reach pls think twice, there's something fishy.

this particular model shd cost btw 1.2M - 1.4M.
somtn is wrong about the deal bro, maybe the seller needs urgent cash or its a stolen car.
even if its faulty it shd not be dat cheap,

Becareful because i find it difficult to beliv offering such car for 550k even my own golf 3 cost me almost 700k to bring it from cotonou.take your mechanic there and make sure sure you have the papers inspected by a competent person because i figure something fishing about that car even in cotonou you cannot get that car for 550k let alone nigeria.The car is too clean for such price even if the owner is in desperate need of cash he cannot sell it at the rate the worst he can do is to borrow money

or if the seller is real then something is wrong with the car because the least that you can get clean golf 4 of such nature from cotonou is 1m maybe the engine is faulty or stolen as the other guy said

i believe the car is in Nigeria cos on the windshield is written LAGOS (from first pix), the only thing is that he says the car is in Port Harcourt reason why i cant do a physical inspection cos i'm in Lagos, and i don't know any one in PH i can call to help me with that. i havent called him back though cos i'm 95% certain it's a scam.

If the car is already in 9ja it shouldnt be carrying the german plate number or wht do u thnk Nairalanders? cos I blieve the plate is usually removed b4 shipping, except the pics was taken b4 shiping and if tht be d case it shldnt carry the lagos port sticker in tht pics. Even if it came in through lagos port, hw come its in ph?

I would also like to know how wise it is to buy a 1998 2 doors volkwagen polo just brought in from the US for 500k  is the price fair or is it too expensive I will ask for the millage I know its manual. Assuming the milage is ok is it a good buy?

@Poster, there is no need for the hue and cry about this offer. There s nothing imposible in Nigeria. Your 1st action, shld ve been to find time and travel any weekend to PH and inspect the car physically.
