The International Women’s Day celebrated on March 8, 2018, is a big deal.

It is an extremely important day that reminds everyone to appreciate and fight for women all over the world.

In light of this incredible day, Pulse Religion recognizes strong females in the Bible.

Here are three powerful women in the Bible who are worth admiring and emulating:

Mary

We start with, obvious choice – the mother of Jesus Christ. Approached at the young age of 14 to giving birth to the son of God, she finds the courage and faith to cooperate with God, ignoring the public shame that comes with pregnancies outside of wedlock.

This faith and courage is further displayed every time she is mentioned throughout the Bible.

Queen Esther

This is another remarkable character. Like Mary, she shows uncommon faith and courage when she requests to see her husband, King Xerxes.

The risk pays off when her people, the Jews, are saved from death.

Rahab

Portrayed as a prostitute, this woman turns out to be a really brave woman who betrays her people when she takes in Israelite spies and keeps them from being found.

This unlikely heroine turned out to be the reason why her entire household is saved (See Joshua 2).

Other noteworthy women include Deborah, a Judge, Prophetess and Oracle (See Judges 5:2–31) and Ruth, whose loyalty, and kind character pays off when she marries Boaz.

International Women’s Day

In the early 1900’s, a global day was set aside for the celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

“International Women’s Day is all about unity, celebration, reflection, advocacy and action — whatever that looks like globally at a local level,” explains the campaign website.

There are many other powerful women in the Bible. What about Jael who was mentioned in the Book of Judges in the Bible, as the one who killed Sisera in order to deliver Israel from the troops of King Jabin? shocked

And what about Deborah who was a prophet of the Lord God of the Israelites, the fourth Judge of Israel, the only female judge mentioned in the Bible, and the wife of Lapidoth? undecided

As well as Zipporah wife of Moses, who used a blood ritual of cutting the foreskin, to successfully defend her husband and son, against the angel of death? Zipporah, is heroic, "decisive, fearless, strong, the competent person in an emergency," who despite being the pagan daughter of a priest, stood up to God's angel, and saved Moses as well as her son, by performing the act of circumcision that warded off death from their household.

it depends on the mode of classification.
if you are looking for a woman leader Deborah Esther and one I can't remember in the book of proverbs

if your are looking at motherhood and prophecy you will consider Mary mother of Jesus ,Sarah mother of Isaac and Elizabeth mother of john the baptist

if your are looking at young women you will look at Ruth wife of Boaz,Rachel the harlot and Judah's second wife

if your are looking at zealous you are looking at the women that served Jesus

if you are looking at the luckiest woman in the bible it is going to be the woman to be stoned and walked away free of charge, the woman with the bent back made straight and the women who had their brother brought back to life
