How To Start Oil & Gas Filling Station Business With Little Or No Capital by cashcity: 10:33am On Mar 09, 2018
How to start oil and gas filling station marketing business in Nigeria with little or no capital has always been a big challenge to average Nigerian who dreams of making a living in oil sector. Business and investment in oil and gas sectors are mostly high jacked by the elites in the society because of the high capital needed to set up the platforms such as oil terminal/depots, gas plant and filling stations, trucks and man power (staff strength). People involved in marketing and distribution of petroleum products are always taken to be the richest members of the society just because of the availability of capital.

The question now is “Can an average Nigerian also involve in such business despite the huge capital demand and sometimes the risk factor that scares people away from it?” The answer is YES. I can assure you that an average Nigerian who does not have up to a million naira startup capital can take part in oil and gas business today.

The business processes I’m about to discuss is designed to favour average Nigerian who has given up on his dream of making a living through oil and gas sector.

Firstly, Nigeria is one of the richest oil producing country in the world with the rich crude oil deposit found in the South-South, South-East and South-west region. Petroleum product is the major source of economy to Nigerian government since it was first discovered in 1965 at Oloibiri community in Bayelsa state. Exploration and Exportation of petroleum products are the major source of income to our country.

Statistic had also shown that Nigeria is the highest consumer of petroleum product and also one of the highest users of automobile in the whole world. Since the steady and uniform supply of electricity has always being a year to year problem for Government to solve, this has now makes it difficult to have alternative to the use of oil product.

Almost every home in Nigeria uses oil product in one way or the other to run their home activities such as Generators, Cooking gas, Automobiles, Stoves etc.

In industry, big industrial equipment uses AGO, LPFO, HPFO etc. and Aviation uses ATK (jet A1 fuel) for smooth running of the day to day production and businesses.
I personal termed oil products as one of the basic needs in life, competing favorably with air, water, light and food as far as Nigeria is concern.

The above evidences are the reason why people who own oil firms in the country are one of the richest in the society because they deal in businesses and investments which everybody cannot live without.

Before you can start any business or investment in oil and gas products, you will first choose the type of products that most interest you. Below is the list of petroleum products available in Nigeria.
PMS (Premium Motor Spirit) or petrol.
DPK (Dual Purpose Kerosene) or kerosene.
AGO (Automotive Gas Oil) or diesel.
ATK (Aviation Turbine Kerosene).
HHK (House Hold Kerosene).
LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) or cooking gas.
LPFO (Low Pour Fuel Oil)
HPFO (High Pour Fuel Oil)
Base oil (Rubricating and Engine oil etc.)

The full detailed procedure can be found through the link below for those that really want to make it in oil and gas sector.

Nigeria as an oil hub in the whole of West Africa and by extension the whole of Africa has a hold in virtually every sector of the oil market, the reason is because Nigeria is one of the countries that the world rely on for the supply of crude which is used in the manufacturing of petrol. In Essence, Nigeria should be Advantaged in terms of production petroleum products as well as exportation of the same products, sadly, Nigeria still import petrol, this alone has made a big business out of petrol sales, with petrol stations springing up in every nook and crannies of the country.
