Premier League Preview And Predictions (game-week 30) by iamstanc(m): 12:40pm On Mar 09, 2018
Manchester United vs. Liverpool
Date: 10/3/18
Time: 1:30pm
Venue: Old Trafford

The early kickoff at Old Trafford sees eternal rivals Manchester United and Liverpool trade tackles in a game which all permutations and recent form suggests a draw.

The two teams have being involved neck-to-neck for the second spot on the log, the Red Devils two points ahead of the Reds. Manchester United despite parading the second joint best defence have begun to show cracks, conceding in their last three games. Giving the hot-streak of Liverpool, we expect a score draw to settle this game.

Prediction: 1-1

Everton vs. Brighton and Hove
Date: 10/3/18
Time: 4:00pm
Venue: Goodison Park

Everton are home to a vastly improved Brighton and Hove side who sit a spot above in 10th-place. Chris Hughton’s men are in fine form, unbeaten in their last five, amassing 11 points in that period.

Everton on their part have suffered three defeats in that time, all away from home, but maintained a perfect record at home. We expect the Toffees’ strong home form to be extended, but considering the visitors are consistent in front of goal, we should see goals at both ends.

Prediction: 3-1

Huddersfield Town vs. Swansea City
Date: 10/3/18
Time: 4:00pm
Venue: John Smith’s Stadium

Swansea City will be desperate to avoid a second successive away defeat to one of the league’s promoted sides when they travel away to Huddersfield Town.

Both teams are tied on same number of points and goals scored for the season, 30 and 25 respectively, but the Swans are two spots ahead in 13th based on a slightly superior defence. This tie could be cagey; regardless, both teams should get on the scoresheet.

Prediction: 1-1

Newcastle United vs. Southampton
Date: 10/3/18
Time: 4:00pm
Venue: Saint James Park

Newcastle United and Southampton are involved in a nervy relegation battle, an outcome which could determine both sides survival fate. Rafael Benitez and Mauricio Pellegrino go back all the way to Liverpool, when the Spaniard brought the then-defender in on a short-term deal.

Given that Southampton appear to play better and more dangerous in away games, we could be in for a tactical game where the visitors rely on the counter, but nevertheless, Benitez’s experience should earn the Magpies maximum points.

Prediction: 2-1

West Brom vs. Leicester City
Date: 10/3/18
Time: 4:00pm
Venue: Hawthorns

West Brom and Alan Pardew’s season could be handed a lifeline when they welcome an inconsistent and out-of-form Leicester City, a side who are winless in their last five games and suffered successive away defeats.

The Baggies appear to let themselves down despite parading a squad that ought to punch their weight in the division. However, a desperate West Brom could bring an end to their losing streak against a Leicester side, as the Baggies aim to start an unlikely late season revival on 20 points.

Prediction: 3-2

West Ham vs. Burnley
Date: 10/3/18
Time: 4:00pm
Venue: London Stadium

West Ham United have being handed a breather following successive away league losses, shipping in eight goals in 180 minutes. The Hammers are home to seventh-place Burnley, seven spots and 10 points separating both teams.

Despite the Clarets ending an 11-game winless streak in their comeback win at the weekend, we tip West Ham, though largely inconsistent, to nick a win which takes them further to safety.

Prediction: 1-0

Chelsea vs. Crystal Palace
Date: 10/3/18
Time: 6:30pm
Venue: Stamford Bridge

Crystal Palace could give Chelsea some major reasons to worry when the Eagles come calling to Stamford Bridge in the London derby, a testing encounter for both teams at different ends of the table.

The Blues are desperate to close the gap on fourth-place Tottenham Hotspur, currently at five points, as their UEFA Champions League hopes appear to be gradually slipping away. Palace on their part are in the bottom three, no thanks to Monday night’s dramatic home loss to Manchester United.

With Chelsea equally keeping an eye on next week’s UEFA Champions League game in Barcelona, there could be a danger of a repeat of last season’s home loss to Crystal Palace. However, this present Eagles team, lacking Wilfred Zaha, don’t have the firepower to trouble a shaky Chelsea backline.

Prediction: 2-0

Arsenal vs. Watford
Date: 11/3/18
Time: 2:30pm
Venue: Emirates Stadium

Arsenal on the back of three successive league losses, hosts a Watford team who are gradually closing in on them, three spots behind in sixth-place and nine points trailing.

It has being a disastrous last couple of weeks for the Gunners, leading to increased calls for the departure of Arsene Wenger. Watford were winners on this ground last season, equally edging the reverse fixture at home earlier in the campaign.

They could make it three successive wins against a deflated Arsenal side, clearly lacking in confidence and on-field leaders.

Prediction: 1-2

Bournemouth vs. Tottenham Hotspur
Date: 11/3/18
Time: 5:00pm
Venue: Vitality Stadium

Tottenham Hotspur are back in league action away to Bournemouth, following the exertions of their midweek UEFA Champions League exit at the Wembley Stadium.

It has being a good last couple of rounds for Spurs, keeping clean sheets in their last three games, as they hold on to fourth-place. However, Bournemouth are quite an unpredictable team, and while we don’t expect Tottenham to lose, we should see some cracking goals by both teams.

Prediction: 2-4

Stoke City vs. Manchester City
Date: 12/3/18
Time: 9:00pm
Venue: Bet365 Stadium

Stoke City’s survival hopes gets even more difficult with a home clash against champions-in-the-waiting Manchester City on Monday night. It has being an almost spotless season for the Citizens who are 16 points clear at the top.

Pep Guardiola will demand for the same intensity from his group, a momentum which has taken them past adversity. For Paul Lambert, it should be another long, unproductive day in the office, his team likely to be on the back foot for much of the duration.

Prediction: 1-3
