The upstream deals with exploration and production sector of the industry;

‘Downstream, which deals with refining and processing of crude oil and gas products, their distribution and marketing. Companies operating in the industry may be

So when talking about starting oil and gas exploration business with #300,000 is not possible, because in exploration there are so many factor you have to put in place,

• Identifies area with favourable geological condition
• Seismic survey
• Exploratory drilling
• Determine if the reservoir is economical, and so many other factors,

My brother sorry for my late reply, as a industrial chemist, you fit in every area of the Oil and Gas sector from the upstream to the downstream, when i said upstream that is from exploration to production. and downstream i mean processing even to marketing, because as an industrial chemist is the application of physical and chemical processes towards the transformation of raw material into product, so my brother you are very fit for the oil and gas sector, if you are still in school please i advice You, please try to have minimum of 2.1.

Exploration surveying In the first stage of the search for hydrocarbon-bearing rock formations, geological maps are reviewed in desk studies to identify major sedimentary basins. Aerial photography maythen be used to identify promising landscape formations such as faults or anticlines. The Magnetic Method depends upon measuring the variations in intensity of the magnetic field which reflects the magnetic character of the various rocks present,

I graduated recently and it's with a very strong 2.1 but most times when I check job recruitments, it's usually basically the engineers they need, that's the reason for my question Sir, that is the reason for my question Sir.
So can you please explain which professional certificate I need to gain more chances of been recruited into one of the oil companies Sir?
