Nicki Minaj apparently decided to take a break from social media in order to put all of her focus into creating music for her highly anticipated fourth album.
Although, some insiders whisper that her absence is due to her current stint in drug rehab.

“Cardi B took over the scene and has been breaking all these records. Anyone in their right mind would be like, ‘I better step my game up.’ She wants to be on top. It’s friendly competition. It’s not a Remy Ma situation, but, Nicki definitely pays attention,” an insider told “Page Six TV.”
Another source told says there’s no truth to the competitiveness. “Nicki is focused only on Nicki,” the source said.
Minaj’s fans launched a “Nicki Is Missing” campaign after the rapper took a break last year from posting her every move on social media, but the source claims she’s simply off making new music.
“She’s in the studio in Miami. She just had a private listening session with her managers. Drake and [Lil] Wayne are in Miami, too — hopefully all recording together,” the source said.
Minaj shot a feature for the March issue of Vogue, which indicates new material may be on the way.
