What of Jonathan? Patience nko? Wike?

As far as I know, patience already has issues with EFCC
If GEJ has a private Jet, he should be probed as well alongside the likes of Tinubu
Wike doesn't have one. Rivers State Govt owns the Jet not Wike

It's very disrespectful to use looted fund from govt to buy a Gulfstream , he should have opted for a cessna citation instead

I can't remember if Tony Blair or Obama have private jets...

Why can't Buhari learn form the Saudis who arrested many people including crown princes who have billions?

Buhari has nothing to lose if he does the right thing...he is more than 75 years already.

The country could harvest more than $500billion from all the corrupt business people, civil servants, governors, ministers, infact all politically exposed people...Plea bargain could be used to forestall legal actions that would drag the cases.

By Soni Daniel Abuja—How did former Borno State governor, Ali Modu Sheriff, raise $72 million (N12 billion) to buy a Gulfstream aircraft, Model G650, after leaving office as a public officer? This was the major question put to him by a crack team of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, operatives, who grilled the former governor of the Boko Haram-troubled state for hours in Abuja, yesterday.

The interrogators had been specifically raised by the commission to probe Sheriff, who was the governor under which Boko Haram insurgency birthed in Nigeria and were not considered as a serious threat to the state and the country at the time. Vanguard learned that the invitation of Sheriff by EFCC was to find out if he abused his office as a governor or benefitted from alleged rip-off of a former president to the tune of $200 million under the guise of enforcing a dubious Boko Haram ceasefire in a neighbouring country in 2014.

The operatives also wanted to establish if the said amount was transmitted by a top presidential aide to a foreign leader, who has a personal relationship with Sheriff. The operatives, who invited the former governor to their head office in Abuja, questioned him specifically on where he got the money to acquire the aircraft in the same year that the controversial Boko Haram ceasefire flopped.

The former governor, who was grilled for many hours yesterday, was however allowed to go home on administrative bail and asked to return on today with some documents.

A source said: “Indeed, we interrogated Sherriff for many hours yesterday and he actually cooperated with our operatives and that made it easy for us to grant him administrative bail and asked him to report back on Tuesday (today).

“We will continue with the interrogation of the politician in order to determine how he came by the aircraft and other items we are investigating.” Recall that with the purchase of the aircraft, Sheriff topped the list of such fleet owners in the country. However, the other owners of private jets in Nigeria are mostly top religious and businessmen

Nothing ever comes out of these 'grillings' or 'quizzes' at the end of the day.

What do you mean by no evidence?

You have a jet worth N12 billion...that's evidence on its own...

The FG could start with how much tax the governor has paid within the period.

The problem with Nigeria is that people who reason like you are in the majority...

"The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, secured the conviction and sentencing of Prof. Benjamin Adefemi Ogunbodede, a former Director-General, Institute of Agriculture Research and Training, IART, Ibadan, Oyo State before Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel of the Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Ogunbodede had been prosecuted alongside the trio of Zacheaus Tejumola, Adenose Clement and Jalekun Omotowoju on a 17-count charge bordering on conspiracy, misappropriation and diversion of funds to the tune of N177 million."

What about Tinubu aircraft? You should be ashamed of yourself. If Alimodu Serif had not been invited by EFCC, that means you wouldn't have said anything about Tinubu. I can't defend Tinubu but we need to stop justifying and defending these looters of public treasury in the name of politics, religion and ethnicity. PDP spent 16 years in power, they did beam their searchlight on Tinubu but didn't come up with anything. Why would any sane person want EFCC to start all over again? Or, is this efcc different from the one under PDP?

There are three components that best explain the sources of sudden wealth among Nigeria's serving or retired political appointees, and their extended families.

1. PRAYING is essential for the success of ALL ventures known to man, from the mundane, to the magical, to the criminal.

2. FASTING and SPEAKING IN TONGUES, which of course refers to knowing what amounts will be expected of the accused, the instant accounts auditors call for criminal investigations.

3. EMBEZZLEMENT of public funds is the CORNERSTONE of most "wealth building" in Nigeria, and this crime must commence THE INSTANT political appointees enter office, so as to save up enough for themselves, their families, AND all invited law-enforcement agencies, down the road.

All amounts stolen from the treasury must be apportioned as follows : 33% of dividend shares for the perpetrator. 33% for the police, and the final 34% for the EFCC, along with sundry other impersonators that show up as the funds are placed on the conveyor-belt for delivery into private bank accounts.

In other words, for every THREE oranges that you steal from the orchard, allocate one for the witness, one for the police, and one for you.

Why do Nigerians politicians become wealthy at the expense of the Nation. I don't mind if they loot the country blind as long as they transform it to look like New York or London.

The major problem I have is they to loot the country blind to buy private jets and turn it into an absolute shithole, with no sewage system, hospitals, good roads and portable water.

Check their taxes, you will find they pay less than 100k a year. Despite the fact that based on their acquisitions of private jets, they are meant to be in the highest tax bracket of 24% and be paying the government billions of naira tax based on the average price of a private jet being around N10 billion naira.

Nigeria is where they steal money, but most of their time is spent lavishing cash in London, New York and Dubai, where choice real estate and luxury jet aircraft are acquired with the frequency that mere mortals buy new shoes.
