Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu will be charged before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) next week by the office of the attorney-general of the federation (AGF) over false declaration of assets.

Ekweremadu’s charge is the same charge slammed against Senate President Bukola Saraki whose case was adjourned indefinitely on Thursday by the tribunal.

The deputy senate president is accused of having assets in United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States of America which he allegedly did not disclose in his declarations to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

Meanwhile, officials of the ministry of justice and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are expected to leave for the UAE on Monday to seek the forfeiture of eight properties allegedly linked to Ekweremadu, TheCable understands.

The forfeiture is being pursued under a bilateral agreement reached between the two countries after President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office in 2015.

Bubu is pushing too much. Senate might impeach him the way things are going. Saraki has been patient and restraint despite the insults he has received; being dragged from court to court like a small boy. Now you want to inflict the same on Ekweremadu? Who knows next, David Mark. Akpabio, Dariye, Akume, Theodore Orji, Abaribe, ? They will be meeting now to take decisive action to stop this.

lipsrsealed Nigerians think they know a lot but know nothing.
We can never move anywhere until we realize that the greatest enemies of the Nigerian state is the National Assembly(NASS) be it senate or house of reps.
Thieves can not make laws for good governance. U all blame Bubu for the woes but fail to look inwards at the trillions siphoned by these bastards with constituency allowances with nothing to show. Nigerians do not even know that in the first place it is never d duty of lawmakers to finance projects. Also, the state governors and the various state houses of assembly all ate a huge drain on resources needed to make life good for the common man.
There is enough for all but not enough for the greed of the few in power.
Bubu’s war on corruption would understandably fail cos even the laws to fight it are so weak coupled with so many loopholes deliberately left by the theifing lawmakers so that d culprits wud frustrate the judicial case. Bubu can not prosecute, try and sentence corrupt public officers alone.

We are know these senators are thieves

Collecting a whooping 13.5m each as running costs on a monthly basis

They will all burn in hell
No sane Nigerian will defend thieves no matter their background... Let the justice go round

I rest my case
