Husband Of Deceased Banker Denies Killing Her, Releases Her “suicide Note” by NewshelmNg: 12:50pm On Mar 13, 2018
The family of the deceased banker known as Peace who was reported to have committed suicide in Ughelli, Delta State have debunked allegations that she took her life, insisting she was murdered.

The family of the deceased believe the deceased’s husband Mr. Umukoro Akpobaro was responsible for her death though he has denied killing his wife. Peace, who allegedly committed suicide at their home at Iwhrekpokpor, Ughelli, Delta State.

The family of the deceased further alleged that Umukoro their son-in-law had always made death threats to the deceased in her lifetime.
It was gathered that the cause of the alleged suicide was due to Umukoro’s marital indiscretions and alleged infidelity.

Peace, a 32-year-old mother of two was reported to have died after allegedly ingesting insecticide when she got home from work.

Umukorhowever refuted the allegations as baseless claiming he and the deceased got along cordially before she died asserting the late Peace told him about some debts she owed due to “overposting” funds to some customers.

“One happened in January and the amount was about N100,000. She called me and asked for my help and I sent N50,000 to her. I told her that I would send the balance when another one happened in February. She complained that she was getting tired of the debts,” said the husband.
Umukoro who works with a broadcast station, as a journalist claimed that his wife sent him a message on Whatsapp, telling him to take care of their children, a few hours to her death.

The chat Umukoro screen grabbed and released the chat which read the following

Peace (11: 27am): Migwo, can I get a loan from you or anywhere? To pay N20,000 back monthly; I need N100,000.
Umukoro (12:08am- 12:21pm): Verendo, what happened?
Peace (12:43pm-2:21pm): Nothing. I need the money to clear my debts. I’ll pay back please, every 24th. I don’t have anyone to ask. Please assist me. I don’t have peace. I’m just managing to keep myself together. You didn’t answer me? The problems I’m facing are too much. Please take note. I didn’t commit adultery. Ancestors didn’t kill me. I’m tired of life. Challenges of life won me. Hence I’m killing myself. Please give me a befitting burial. The gate and door are open. I died as your wife. Bury me well and take care of my kids. Bye.
Umukoro (3:24pm): What is your problem?

Umukoro claimed he got online an hour after his late wife sent her last message. Upon seeing the message he became frantic and dialed her number which rang endlessly with no response.

He said he immediately called neighbours who gained access into the house and discovered that she had swallowed Sniper and rushed her to a hospital, though unfortunately she died on the way.
To further prove his innocence, he sent a voice note of a conversation he had with Peace and their children a day before the tragic incident in which they had a cheerful conversation.
