Thomas, to me, happened to be one of the most rational characters I have ever read of in the bible. When other disciples told him that they had seen, Thomas refused to believe unless he saw the scars of the nails in his hands and put his fingers on those scars and his hands on Jesus's side, he would not believe

When Jesus appeared to other disciples, Thomas inclusive, he let Thomas clear his doubt and Thomas surrendered saying my Lord! . Jesus then said YOU HAVE SEEN THESE THINGS AND YOU BELIEVE, HAPPY ARE THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN BUT YET BELIEVE

Wrong! The purpose of the story was instead to encourage curiosity and deep thinking among those who would like to learn the Truth of God. Thomas questioned what was before him and for that he was rewarded a chance to personally examine the evidence that was Jesus Christ.

Contrary to what you have been led to believe by the Christians, Jesus Christ rewarded those who rationally approached their understanding and walk with God. Blind faith, of the kind the Christians claim was unacceptable.
