Is Nigeria Not At War? by shehuolayinka(m): 4:50pm On Mar 15, 2018
For years we have handled crisis by throwing mellow pills at it instead of looking for a way to end it permanently.

In the Q1 of 2018, 1358 deaths has been recorded, that is an average of 19 people per day. While Syria which has been in an unending civil in the same Q1 in 2018 recorded at least 342 children and 600 adults killed, a total of 942 killings, which is an average of 13 death per per day.

Apart South West & some part of South East, everywhere has been militarise.

Fulani herdsmen, which the President is a member, Boko Haram, Banditry, Kidnappers, Ritualist, militants, Militias, etc. are all carrying out massive killings and looting.

Who said Nigeria is not at war? We are and have been at war with each other for years and the funny part is that our elites have always known how to bring out that pills whenever any crisis arises, crisis that could upturn the status quo.

But now, no mellow pills will work again. We have now reached a fearsome crescendo. A point of no peace.

Cheta Nwanze, a security analyst with SBM Intelligence in Lagos, succinctly capture and incredibly explained what will become of Nigeria if we continue shutting down crisis without trying to end it permanently.

“Nigerian state has worsened tribal tensions in the country by failing to address past occurrences”.

“In the absence of justice, such a collective guilt mindset will continue to prevail, and when we keep shutting down people who want to remember their dead, rather than let them air their grievances, we only add more heat to the pressure cooker without letting steam to escape”.
