According to the Small Business Administration – The SBA – close to 66% of small businesses
will survive their first 2 years. What SBA is implying is that only about one-third of total
businesses will fail during the first 2 years. The SBA also tells you that about 50% of
businesses collapse during the first year in business. (Now stealing your hope)

Other stat claims that 90% of small businesses fail in their first five years of running their business.
while the CEO of Cisco for 20 years John Chambers further confirms that
“More than one-third of businesses today will not survive the next 10 years”.

Everyone is scared and shaking on their feet, feeling sorry for small businesses. Critics are yelling

“Small Businesses will continue to Fail! Fail! and Fail!

(Hey don't be that scared yet, because 90% of all these heavy headed critics shouting Fail! are employees.
Yes that’s what they are, so lets do ourselves some good right now by ignoring them)

With all these scary failure stories and publications about small businesses,
Small businesses have consistently played a major role in the growth of the economy,
because they create so many jobs—many more jobs than large corporations, reports SBA.

So either way the good news is that there is hope, but that hope depends on how you handle
the issue of growing your small business and that start from asking the right questions
and unlearning all the jargon that you have learned about business in college.

Because on the street you have to do all what it takes to survive, and Lagos is a very tough street.
