Startup Arewa is a Tech Startup and Innovation Meet up tour which is powered by Emerge Tech Africa and Network of Incubators & Innovators in Nigeria (NINE). It is designed to organize capacity development boot camp sessions in different cities of the Northern part of Nigeria to further boost the innovation capacity potentials of Technology Enthusiasts, Innovators and Start-ups.

The maiden edition of the Startup Arewa Hack Series hosted in Kaduna on the 17th to 19th of November 2016 attracted over 500 developers in the and Tech Enthusiasts from across the 19 Northern States of Nigeria, over 40 Resource persons from public-private sectors from Africa, Europe and America and garnered different levels of supports from Private-public, media and Civil Society Organizations (CSO).

Startup Arewa 2017 is designed to build on the successes and the outcomes of the 2016 edition towards the achievement of the grand mandate of the initiative which is developing a sustainable Arewa ecosystem and empowering Arewa based Start-ups.

This US based NGO Has an aim of Empowering Africans through technology. Good enough, lot of sisterly organization from different countries have shown desire to partner with them.

Today in the news is the first big and official StartUp Arewa collaborating with Favcode54.
Startup Arewa is a program operating from Northern-Nigeria but with an agenda of promoting the use of technology and software development among the northerners and also training their skills for for self employment possibility of reducing unemployment and working with tech companies in their local communities and globally. The entire training is free, making it inexcusable for non participating persons.

TechEconomy.ng said they got the announcement via email to them from the founder and President of Startup Arewa, Mohammed Ibrahim saying

"Startup Arewa is open to all aspiring programmers and software developers. Here is an opportunity you shouldn't let pass you by".
"The opportunity is open to anyone who currently resides in Northern-Nigeria, and most importantly, people that have a strong passion to change Africa through technology".
All students would be first handly taught by experts who will properly train, mentor and couch them specially.

These experts are professionals who have work in some of the world biggest companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, IBM, Google, Snap Chat and more still.
