Five Reasons Why Super Eagles Will Beat Serbia On Tuesday Night


The Super Eagles will keep a date with Serbia at the Hive Stadium on Tuesday night.


Following their 1-0 victory over Poland in Wroclaw, the Gernot Rohr managed team will be hoping to consolidate with another clean bill of health.

Here are five reasons why the Eagles will prevail in London tonight;

1. The Moses Effect

Victor Moses hasn't really replicated last season's form for Chelsea in the current campaign but in the colours of the Super Eagles he remains our star player.

He wasn't really at his best element against Poland but came to the party when needed. His influence will determine who the Eagles perform at the Hive Stadium.

2. Mighty Uzoho

If Nigeria have a weakness it's their full-backs which means the defence may have to deal with a lot of crosses.

Having a goalkeeper who can dominate the box spreads confidence amongst the defence. He's also an excellent sweeper, unafraid to leave his box to snuff out potential danger.

With Nigeria liable to be spending much of their time on the front-foot they could be vulnerable to quick counter-attacks, as we saw in the qualifying rounds. His awareness and speed to react could be needed.

3. Oyinbo Combo

We are blessed to have the duo of William Troost Ekong and Leon Balogun available for selection. The "Oyinbo Wall" has been a blessing to us. They did their best to cut supplies to Robert Lewandowski last Friday.

4. The Iwobi Factor

He often looks like the last guy to be picked for a lunch time kick-about,lacking the grace of Lionel Messi or the raw athleticism of Cristiano Ronaldo.

But he has that Gary Lineker-esque knack of being in just the right place when a defender misplaces a back-pass or a team mate scuffs a shot.

With an array of creative talent backing him up he may do little more than apply the finishing touch to a glorious sweeping move but there are better than doing just that.

5. Ndidi the Police

Wilfred Ndidi's stock continues to grow due to his perfect tackling, high work rate and contributions for Leicester City and Nigeria.

His talent has never been in doubt for club and country. The Nath Boys product has a lot at his table especially with the availability of Manchester United Nemanja Matic who likes to dominate the middle of the park.
