Unirank or 4icu is a ranking of universities according to how many people clicks the website of those universities. You would do well to disregard the rankings as it has no bearing on the quality of a university in anyway.
There is absolutely NO NIGERIAN UNIVERSITY that comes even remotely close to University of Ibadan in academics with the exception of UNN and Covenant. And I am talking as someone who has deep knowledge of SCOPUS, Research gate, WoS, Google Scholar and Thomson Reuters and I can assure you that any ranking in Nigeria that does not place those three to be top of any academic ranking must be a complete pile of trash. You may do well to rely on webometrics because it is an academic ranking but the ultimate ranking system is ARWU, THE and QS.
However in the area of available academic facilities UI would be the only public university that would/might manage into top 5. The remaining position would be filled by private unis like covenant, AUN, PAU, ABUAD. However what UI lacks in some facilities it made up with in a good human resource base. UI still produces and retains academics like Gureje Oye who are well rated globally.
NB: I am not affiliated to UI in any shape or form. Just saying the truth. God bless you |

Can you please stop peddling falsehood? It's a dangerous thing for you not to have sufficient information and then sound as an authority. This same ranking had at some point in time placed some universities as number one but now that they have dropped, you come up with half truths to make it look like it's vain. The universities you are promoting are clearly and currently inferior to the University of Lagos. It's not mouth, afterall, all through the '90s (you will know if you are old enough .I was even a student in another university and often wondered how the University of Lagos does it then)it used to be UNILAG before those other universities displaced it now University of Lagos is back to its original place as university of first choice and the nation's pride, now you want to shift the goal posts.Your preferred universities have dropped so live with it and congratulate University of Lagos for displacing those universities inferior to it. They can learn from the University of Lagos how it does it,especially,it's uniquely different and high admission criteria like insisting on 6 credits unlike other schools and insisting on further maths for courses like Engineering. Tell the wailers, Unilag all the way 3 Likes |

I don't know what parameter supersede that...Nigerians sha...see as you misinform people with yanga and authority You are describing webometrics and not 41cu or unirank. I know what bibliometrics is all about and i know Times, QS, ARWU and webometrics all use bibliometrics as a proxy for research relevance. But this Unirank own is all about web clicks and it was clearly stated even by the ranking organization that it is not academic so why are u arguing? |

Sometimes the best way to argue is to present facts.
Standard of admission, quality of graduates, employment prospects, facilities, school environment and how conducive they are, plus academic offerings and R & D.
I don’t see CU beating Unilag in half of these. The Alumni’s of Unilag are also well placed.
At best CU is top 5 behind UI and OAU.
Lol guy seriously! 2016 research data on SCOPUS had Unilag turning out 325 quality research work for all its numerous programmes while Covenant released over 400 for just 32 programmes.... Admission-wise Covenant admits some of the best students from schools like Presco, LJC, Ambassadors college so in turn graduates very quality graduates. As regards facilities Unilag does not beat CU in any way 2 Likes 2 Shares |
