Red Cheetah, a free Wi-Fi network from the Stable of SWIFT Networks was launch earlier in March, 2018, in a bid to provide Lagosians with broadband network, which will later extend to the rest of Nigeria and the world at large.

According to the founder of SWIFT, the hotspots number to about 10,000 which will be distributed to strategic locations in Lagos, including Bus stops, Malls, Cafes, etc.

Red Cheetar works by creating a unique and secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) for each registered device on the app. That means, to access the network, you have to be a 'proud' owner of the app.

The network, as said by the owner of SWIFT NETWORKS, Charlse Anudu, is meant to provide the best of lush internet lifestyle for Nigerians in the digital World.

All you need do is download the app and register, while the platform, sponsored by local advertisers, connects you ASAP to the internet (I need to get to Lag).

The network has since the beginning of the month gone live in Lagos, some specific areas though (for now). But, Mr Charlse promised that the expansion will keep going until the 10,000 mark is reached, covering many restaurants, buses, malls etc.

Go to Google Play Store and search for "Red Cheetah", that's all you need to do to enjoy the service (If you are in Lag). I tried to download it, but the reviews caught my attention. According to the reviews, more work still needs to be done on the network. Complains about not able to register, not connecting to the network, amongst other issues.

If these reviews are worked upon, it could lead to a major revolution in the Nigeria Digital World. Let's hope this project doesn't die off, in a Lagos that is being shut down simply because the President wants to commission a bus stop/terminal. Pathetic
