NO fewer than 8,786 people benefited from the 2018 free medical outreach organised by Hon. Leo Ogor, member representing Isoko Federal Constituency in Delta State.

The two-week long programme which commenced at Oleh on Monday March 12, ended at Ozoro on Monday 26th March, 2018, is part of his 2017 constituency projects, targeted to compliment the policy objectives of the Okowa administration in the health sector.

Hon Leo Ogor, thanked God for the success of the programme, noting that most persons in his constituency were farmers and as the rainy season was fast approaching, they needed to be strong and healthy to have a productive harvest. He assured his constituents of his commitment to the delivery of efficient, quality and free health care throughout his stay in the National Assembly.

Supervisor of the programme and Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre Asaba, Dr Victor Osiatuma who gave a breakdown of the patients, said, "a total of 4,183 patients from Isoko South and 4,603 from Isoko North were treated for various medical operations including eye surgery, myometomy, hernia - oraphy, herniotomy, appendisectomy and hydrocoelectomy among others.

Speaking further, Dr Osiatuma said "273 eye surgeries and 123 general surgery were carried out during the exercise. He added that "A total of 1,310 eye glasses were given out at both Oleh and Ozoro centres while 3,432 patients underwent laboratory screening during the exercise."

Dr. Osiatuma thanked the sponsor Hon Leo Ogor for the gesture describing the exercise as a wonderful experience for the people of Isoko Federal Constituency as very many indigent constituents were attended to without paying a dime for the treatments.
