I just heard from a reliable source that the collation of the list of all those who passed the just concluded Post Utme exam of unilorin has begun and that the list will be forwarded to Jamb Office by 1st week of September, while the 1st batch list of the admitted studentswill be pasted on the school website and admission office for everybody to check by second week of September.

Therefore, you can go and check your Admission status directly from the Jamb website as from next week Friday, just visit   www.jamb.org.ng   to check yours.    Please don't pay kobo to anybody for admission processing once you have scored minimum of 50% in your post utme exam.  

I just checked one for my younger brother yesterday through the jamb website, he was admitted to study Sociology in OAU for 2010/2011 session.

I am looking forward to seeing in Unilorin by the grace of God.

Anyone who want some privacy (I think) should reside off-campus and the "party-type" can reside on campus.
I reside off-campus for the following reasons:
1. In each room of our boys' hostel (there are plenty of girls' hostel but only one boys' hostel. Maybe they realize that guys can fend for themselves and ladies cannot) is 8 bed space - You may eventually become 16 in a room (courtesy of squatters).
2. You can only read/study during the midnight when others are asleep or go to the library during the day (forget about reading in your hostel in daylight).
3. At the end of every session, you are given an ultimatum to vacate the hostel. You will therefore have to keep your belongings with someone who resides off-campus during the long holiday (like the one we have now).
4. There are some things you are barred from using in the hostel like electric cooker/stove and boiling ring.
5. There is the issue of insecurity of belongings (You dare not wash your clothes and leave for a lecture. You may never see it again in your life. Though UNILORIN have zero-tolerance for stealing, there are cases of stolen laptops, phones and even desktop charger. Your wardrobe may be burgled with no one knowing the culprit).
6. The cost implication is not that convincing (A session in the hostel cost N22,000 while you can get a house off-campus at a similar/close rate).

It depends on individual reasonin! Like, i stayed in skool during my 100level days just
to scale d hurdles of bn an Engrn Student come 200level! But dat doesnt mean peeps
in town fail any course.   lolz.
But i think, bn a fresher, i will advice staying in school cos 100Level is d only level where
GP be pure beans,easy to pack!

Harzan & Oladayo: what u said is quite true. But i gallantly subscribe to d deal dat proportionaly or inversely, there is a success secret attached to boarding the hostel esp as a 100l students cos they are new to G.P & dat's d time they can grab d zeal for success.

@all,me wud stay in skool hostel in 100level provided i'm given and dont hav to lobby for it, already,i hav an accomodation around geri alimi where i did my remedial programme,it wud be due by febuary next year.i intend keepin it for relaxation purposes especially durin d weekend and holz, so i guess dat settles where i'll kip my load durin holz,

U can check your admission status with your Jamb registration number from Jamb website as from Monday, 6th September 2010, just visit www.jamb.org.ng. This information was obtained directly from a Unilorin admin officer.

However, make sure that you re-check your personal information in the school website to ensure that you provide accurate and complete information without any ommission, because some people pass the post utme exam and will not find their names in either school admission list or the Jamb website due to their carelessness in data handling on the school website.

What I mean is that, some people will fail to provide a complete Jamb or O'level result and outright omission of vital information that are required for admission purpose in the school records.
