If what you need is for your website to rank higher than other websites of the same category, you need a SEO specialist, not a web designer.

SEO takes long to take effect but here are a few tips to start with.
1. Use user-friendly URLSs and it should contain keywords
2. Page titles should contain keywords/phrases
3. Make use of meta data very well, especially Facebook and Twitter Metadata.
4. Ensure your page content has enough keyword density.
5. Update your website regularly.
6. Get back links from reputable websites in similar category.
