Quite frequently I get questions like; is blogging really a necessary part of running a business? This question is most often asked by small business owners who simply don’t have the time or skills to regularly create high-quality content. And even if they did, they wouldn’t have a clue what to write about.
As a business owner who has built a successful business in large part thanks to blogging and content publication, I’ve seen firsthand the difference it can make in terms of search visibility, leads, and sales. I’m a huge advocate of investing heavily in a content publication strategy, and that strategy begins with the company blog.
Are you still on the fence about blogging for your business? This article will consider 5 of the top benefits of blogging on your website.

1. Educate your prospects
You might think that a blog post is simply something you’ve written and published, but it can be so much more.
Blogs are a great place to ask questions of your readers. Remember to read and respond to all questions and comments that get posted on your blog posts.
Unlike when you respond to a post on Facebook, a blog comment stays in a static position on your site for much longer, so more people are able to see how you effectively communicate.
Remember – this is just the beginning. If you’re looking to expand your business, you need to create valuable content, consistently. One of the best ways to do this is with a blog. (https://www.business.com/articles/small-business-blogging-5-reasons-it-works-and-tips-for-execution/)

2. Give search engines a reason to index your website content
Having high-quality inbound links to your site is one of the three pillars of SEO. However, without a blog it can be extremely difficult to attract authoritative links to your business website. When you add new content that serves as a resource for other bloggers and media, you start to naturally accumulate inbound links as other authors, columnists, journalists, bloggers and contributors reference and cite that content in their own articles. These links are important for SEO, but can also generate significant referral traffic back to your site.

3. Become an authority in your niche
A blog is one of the best ways to establish yourself or your brand as an expert in your field, as it gives you a platform for sharing important industry-related information and insights. As you build up authority in your niche, this breeds trust and familiarity, keeping you top-of-mind when your prospects are ready to buy, and increasing conversion rates, which brings us to our next benefit

4. Generate traffic, increase your reach and give your company a voice.
In terms of search engine rankings, I like to think of blogging as fishing. The more hooks you have in the water, the more likely you are to catch a fish. In the same way, as you add more content to your site, more pages from your domain become indexed in search engines. This improves organic search visibility and increases website traffic.( https://www.forbes.com/sites/jaysondemers/2015/05/28/the-top-10-benefits-of-blogging-on-your-website/4/#307c3b3c435c)

5. Repurpose your content for other platforms
When you have a blog with useful content, you can promote it all over social media, with compelling and intriguing teasers, with photos and images, with catchy headlines.
You can drive people to your blog through your social media platforms. Every click to your blog is important for SEO and important for building your brand.
And, when you add sharing buttons, you increase the opportunity for readers to share your posts with their communities, more brand spreading and opportunities for SEO indexing.
Apart from social media, your blog content can be used for other marketing campaigns such as video marketing, infographics etc.

Final words
The benefits of blogging for business are endless and in some cases, business specific. However, all of these benefits work towards a collective goal of increased leads and conversion rates. In a nut shell, blogging is one of the surest ways to grow your business. So what are you waiting for? Start blogging for your business today.
