I am not dark hearted, my land is no heart of darkness.

Because I have dark skin,
That call me monkey
Does my black skin make me an animal?
Animals are lower creatures by the master maker
I am no monkey, I am a human being.

If you call me monkey because I am black, that is what I call, heart of darkness.
In as much I am equal being, then you are monkey of different colour.
But, I do not agree to be regard as an animal.
So I declare without reservation, I am a human of value per excellent.
I am a living spirit, with soul in a dark skinned body.

Because I have dark skin
You look down on me.
Does my heritage make me inferior?
Inferiority is a state of mind.
I am not inferior, neither are you superior.

Because of I am dark skinned
You perpetually want to make me a slave.
Does my dark skin reduce my worth and value?
No blame is on you, it is of those who have not outgrown slavery, steering this ship I am in.
I am a son, slaves are not born here.
