Cristiano Ronaldo required less than three minutes to make more Champions League history in Real Madrid’s quarter-final clash with Juventus.
The Blancos took to the field at the Allianz Stadium hoping to lay down an early marker in the first leg of a heavyweight continental clash.
Their talismanic forward duly delivered once again, with Ronaldo enhancing his reputation as a man for the big occasion.
Already the all-time leading goalscorer in the competition, the Portuguese is back at the top of the charts for 2017-18 and is showing no sign of slowing down.
He provided the inspiration for Real during a last-16 encounter with Paris Saint-Germain, netting on three occasions across two legs.
Ronaldo also found the target in all of his outings at the group stage – against Borussia Dortmund, Apoel Nicosia and Tottenham.
His run does not stop there, though, with the 33-year-old having netted against Juventus in last year’s final.
He is now the first man in the competition’s history to score in 10 successive appearances, with the records continuing to tumble for the remarkable talent who raises the bar year after year.
