Until you show me the video of someone bleeding as a result of this disciplinary action will I take you serious...
If not you can shove this useless thread up your ass!
With clipper, HIV or hepatitis don't need visible bleeding before it can spread from one person to another. All what it needs is an invisible cut (to the naked eye). If you wash your head after barbing or shaving your hair and you feel the sting of the water or soap, it means you already have a cut. And there is no way you wouldn't feel the sting.
Pls, we're educated. If Nigeria will be better, it rests on us. Can this kind of practice stand in a sane society?

Bros, is CU not in Nigeria? Or are CU students not Nigerian? Don't the Nigerian CU students have relatives and loved ones who are Nigerian.
Is barbing about 100 students hair with a single unsterilized clipper healthy for the Nigerian society?

If the students got contracted with a deadly disease, do you think it won't spread beyond the four walls of CU?

Nor dey talk nonsense abeg

You have a choice not to attend the institution. The moment you decide to attend, adhere strictly to their rules.
About the clipper, if the barber is a professional, which is likely he would have been sterilizing after each person. That should reduce the risk of any disease being spread.

HigherEd said that it wasn't part of their "rules". I wonder what rule says students must be skin head.

"likely"? That's a big gamble on your part.

Why are bloggers still talking about this issue? Am not a fan of private Universities (especially the universities established by missionaries), but am sure the students know the rules and regulations of the school before they were given admission, then why breaking the rules. If you know you want freedom go to government owned universities where lecturers don't care about your lifestyles. Even in government owned universities we all swore to an oat not break the rules and regulations of the school.

Religion in Nigeria is in its crudest form. You pay so much money 4 education mixed with religious bigotry and mental slavery. Before I regarded CU as a glorified secondary school now it's just a religious primary school.

You aren't the sharpest tool in the shed.
How did religion creep into this?
It is basically the school misusing and abusing it's authority.
The school has a Christian background but, does that translate into Christianity being behind this?
Whatever happened to consulting your brain before taking actions?

This is ritual. The students should demand for the extract of their hairs. Let’s see if the school authorities can provide that first.

That is the problem I have with the private universities owned by missionaries. Religion shouldn't be mixed up with education. It is just unfortunate that adult are controlled like a toddler.

HIV dies in moments of exposure.
The chances of contracting HIV through clippers are really slim.

That doesn't justify the rubbish CU did though, because it's not only HIV out there.
I would rather be expelled than go through this.

Are those students babies for chrissakes?

So keeping beards makes one irresponsible? How about moulding youths that can express themselves and challenge the status quo? What I see is the breeding of docile adults who can't think on their own unless they are prodded by society. This is nothing but a secondary school, no matter how you defend it. Even a dog kept in the cage for a long time either becomes too aggressive or too docile. Bullshit!

Google great scientists with beards. How many athletes that earn billions of dollars have beards.
