The negative effects of drug abuse on Nigerian youths can't be over-emphasized. A young man who was high on drugs on Easter day - collapsed and began behaving strangely near a river in Delta state. According to online reports, the man allegedly took marijuana, tramadol among other drugs in an attempt to get himself high on the festive day.

Rather than get himself high, he got himself low by collapsing on the ground where he stayed for some minutes before he entered the river to cool off his ''hot'' brain.

He was filmed by a friend/resident who mocked him as he behaved strangely.

This is a perfect example of Drug Induced Psychosis.

If I'm not mistaken and I very well may be, but I'm fairly sure any drug or medication that alters the chemical processes of your brain, whether non narcotic, such as anti depressants, mood stabilizers, etc or narcotics, whether tramadol, weed, opiates,amphetimines, benzodiazapenes,etc such as ambien,adderall, xanax etc, depending on actual medical need, dosage and things of that nature, all have a small percentage chance of permanent damage to your brains ability to further produce those chemicals required to function correctly, and as such by that logic, any medication used clinically, or illicitly, used to alter brain activity or function can therefor in one dose, cause you to go “insane"

Like I said I could be incorrect in what I've labeled as my assumption, and in no way am claiming as fact, but logically speaking what I said, stands as very valid possibility, and if incorrect, I'm never against being more formally educated on the subject.

The negative effects of this substances are very clear yet many youths still take them. What pains me most is when i see students abuse them, Off campus where i live many students who came to the university to get a degree abuse this drugs anyhow its such a shame
