Boko Haram: N360bn Equipment Fund Does Not Make Sense – Shehu Sani by Emmalez(m): 8:10pm On Apr 04, 2018

The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s approval of N360billion for procurement of security equipment to fight insecurity in the country.

The Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali,on Wednesday disclosed the release of $1 billion for procurement of security equipment to fight insecurity in the country after a three-hour meeting Buhari had with service chiefs and heads of other security agencies.

Reacting, Sani in a tweet described the procurement as a misplaced priority, adding that the government should have rather allocated the funds to the welfare of the officers and soldiers fighting the war.

In a series of tweets, the lawmaker wrote “A Billion dollar to purchase arms will not make sense if we don’t factor the welfare and wellbeing of the officers and soldiers fighting the war.

“A special fund for the injured, the orphans and widows of our fallen soldiers need also to be factored in. A weapon cannot fight a war without the men to use it.

“We also need to remind ourselves that our Defence Industry is moribund, before we enrich arms manufacturers in other nations. Our self sufficiency should not be about rice alone”.

Very sensible comment, but the money just realised is for APC 2019 campaign fund. If Buhari losses his re-election. All these APC bigwigs will rot in jail cos every kobo must be accounted for.

Any wise man should not collect kobo for campaign from Buhari's team cos Dasuki case will be a child's play to what he will face after APC defect in 2019.

Note: The day I will fight for any politician will be the day their sons and daughters will be the one leading the charge.

When it is clear that this money is being set to prosecute the 2019 elections, there will be no need to see why Buhari will not win, since we still practice money politics. OBJ, IBB, Danjuma, and watchful Nigerians, need to go behind the rhetorics to a united action to salvage Nigeria and chart the nation on a path of progress and true greatness, devoid of suspicion and hate for one region or the other. Buhari has nothing more to offer.
