THE oust Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, Ali Janga, has been reinstated back to his duty post.

Mr Janga was removed over a jailbreak of suspects linked to the trial of Senator Dino Melaye, in the state.

His removal came hours after he announced that six suspects, including two men who accused Senator Dino Melaye of supplying them arms, escaped from police custody in Lokoja, the state capital.

However, the lawmaker has since denied the allegations and described them as attempts to silence him.

Melaye is being tried for misinforming the police over assassination attempt on his life.

Confirming the new development, is the state police command spokesman, ASP William Aya, according to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said Mr Janga was reinstated after meeting the one week ultimatum given to him by the Inspector-General of Police to re-arrest the suspects who escaped from police custody.

The police spokesman confirmed that all the six suspects that escaped from lawful police custody on March 28 had been re-arrested.

Aya also said that 13 persons that aided the escape of the suspects had been arrested in Lokoja.

According to him, those arrested are commercial tricycles operators that ferried the suspects to safety after their escape and the owners of the houses where they slept after their escape from custody.

He said that all the suspects would be charged to court after conclusion of investigation.

Come self, who are you upset deceiving? A CP was redeployed out of a state, yet he metthe IGs target by arresting the people who escaped. Under whose command did he arrest them since he was no longer CP of the state. The case is just dead. The level of scandal under this IG is still very alarming.
