The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has lauded Governor Rauf Aregbesola for his effort at providing functional education, describing the model schools being constructed across the state as the best in the Southwest.

National Vice Chairman of the union in the zone, Mr Cosmas Oni who led other delegates who were in Osun for the union’s zonal meeting during a tour of projects executed by Aregbesola said no other state can match Osun model schools.


Oni said: “I am overwhelmed with what we have seen because the impression we had about this government is different from what we are seeing on ground. Without mincing words, in this zone, I have never seen any type of model school that covers the three stages of elementary, middle and high school.

I give kudos to Aregbesola for the edifice and for putting on ground solid foundation for our children. If you invest on the children, you are eradicating poverty.

In the same vein, the NUJ Chairman in Lagos State, Dr Kazeem Akinreti said the infrastructural projects being put in place by Aregbesola would outlive generations, maintaining that the governor has performed credibly well.

Good works by Aregbe but there is clearly room for improvements. I expect a corresponding increase of IGR cos if tomorrow another party reigns at federal level they could starve the state of fund needed to run those schools.

What else can we say to someone that have built over 67 new schools, constructed over 1000 kilometre of roads, provide job to over 40000 youths through O-Yes etc.

May God bless Ogbeni. He has made landmark achievements in almost every sphere. We pray his successor will uphold the good legacies and even improve on them.

No sane person will see Aregbesola giant stride in educational sector and not commend it. Respect should be given to who deserves it. Aregbesola's buildings are second to none in Nigeria politics apart.

Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has touched every aspects of human lives since his inauguration in November, 2010. In terms of empowerment, he has employed thousands of Osun indigenes into main stream civil service, an achievement that no past government has surpass that. The road construction in Osun in terms of standard is second to none, no local government in the state that is not having a good road map, which has boosted economic activities in rural areas. The legacies Rauf is leaving, only a visionary leader like him can match the record.

Since coming on board as the Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has transformed the state. The state under his leadership has witnessed tremendous infrastructures being put in place to last 50 years and stand the test of time. I am not surprised that Journalists could commend him for his good works. History will never forget his administration for doing so much to secure the future for the unborn citizens of the State of the Virtuous.

I can say it boldly that we've moved up to compete with the best states in WAEC examinations in the country. He built modern schools throughout the state, and employed more teachers. In Nigeria, the school built is rated to be among the best school in west africa. In his regime, he took medical department of osun state university students abroad to study. Our amiable governor cherishes education alots and he is trying his best to take the education system in the state to higher level.
