If only you are enlighten enough to the case of the 16 Nigerian officials facing war crimes before ICC/US courts.

Pls grow up and see things without your Yoruba lens.
I won't argue with you . The same way you deceived yourself that Israel was supporting kanu. Keep deceiving yourself . I wish you luck

One thing Nnamdi Kanu's disappearance taught me is that there are several media outlets in Nigeria that are unnecessarily biased. The press should be the vanguard of democracy, they are the watchdogs of government. They are the ones who should call out government when it is doing evil. But in the case of Nnamdi Kanu, many press houses such as Tvc news, Channels and AIT seem to have sided with government, when they should not. There are important questions I expected the press in democratic country to ask:-

1) Is operation Python dance legal? Is it right for a president to deploy Soldier's to the South East where there was no war or armed conflict?

2)Does the constitution empower the Army to take over the job of the police in crime fighting?

3)What law empowers the President of Nigeria to deploy Soldier's against unarmed people?

4) Why is it that operation Python dance was to begin on the 15th of September but the Military came around Kanu's house on the 11th and invaded Kanu's house on the 14th of September, all before the official start of Python dance?

5) Why did the Army invade Kanu's house when they have no constitutional power to do so?

6) Why was IPOB, which has no guns and never killed anyone, declared a terrorist group but others like the Herdsmen and Niger Delta Militants who have taken up arms and killed people have no such tag?

It is quite clear that Federal government commited so many crimes with operation Python dance that by the time they go through the court process, it will be a national fiasco.

Section 217 of the constitution only permits the President to deploy the Army to:-

1. Suppress insurrection
2. Protect Nigeria against external aggression and maintain its territory
3. Aid civil authorities to restore order
4. Carry out any duty by an act of the national assembly

None of this applied to IPOB. The federal government is in a big mess over PYTHON dance and the only thing saving its face is the terrorist tag it put on IPOB. Hopefully, it will soon be overturned at the court of appeal. Operation Python dance was state sponsored terrorism.

The president has the power under the armed forces act to deploy the army for internal security operations. IPOB was a security threat, and Kanu jumped bail when he realized he was going to be sent back to jail for violating his bail conditions. He is in hiding

Sorry but you are wrong. Section 217 is what deals with the powers of the President to deploy the Army, not the armed forces act. Although chapter 8 of the armed forces act gives the President the power to decide operational use of the military, it also ends by saying “operational use of the Armed Forces includes the operational use of the Armed Forces in Nigeria for the purpose of maintaining and securing public safety"

Section 217 that now deals with the presidents powers to deploy the military only allows the President two scenarios in which he can use the military to effect internal security. In the case of insurrection, or to aid civil authorities to restore order. There was no order to restore in the South East and neither was there any insurrection. Internal security is the job of the police, not the Army. The Army only aid the police when the situation cannot be contained by just the police.

As for Kanu violating his bail condition, it was incumbent for everyone to wait until the court revoked the bail. Even now, the court has not revoked his bail. What did the military go to do at Kanu's house?

The president used the army against IPOB in a legal manner. He has the authority to deploy the army to protect the public safety, a safety which was threatened by Kanu and his people. There is no court of law in the country today that won't throw out your case after a single hearing. Its not the govt's fault Kanu went into hiding

Nnamdi Kanu jumped bail and ran away when he got wind of his imminent imprisonment for breaking all his bail conditions. He can never step foot on Nigerian soil again without being rearrested on sight

This matter is not something that is judged based on sentiments or emotion. It is judged based on the law. Go and read section 217 of the constitution if you want know the powers of the President of Nigeria to deploy the military.

Public safety and internal security is the job of the police, not the Army. The job of the Army is external security. Other civilised countries, nobody ever sees the Army come out of the Barack unless there is war somewhere or serious brakedown of law and order. The President sending the Army to a peaceful place where there is no breakdown of law and order, no war and no armed conflict is mischievous, stupid, ill advices and abuse office.

If Kanu or his group pose any threat to public safety, it is the job of the police to investigate and charge accordingly. It is not for the Army to move in and start shooting people.

Also, how can Kanu and his group pose a threat to public safety when they are not armed and have no history of violence? Operation Python dance was state sponsored terrorism.

Why are you dwelling on the past?

The maggots have fed and the flies have gone away, only time is left for the bones.

The president has the power to use his discretion in the deployment of the armed forces for any internal security operation he deems fit. Even in America the president can exercise such power. If he cannot use the army to maintain internal security, then what is the use of the army? Obassanjo used it at Odi, Yaradua did so against boko haram. No serious person has ever questioned this power.
