The strategy of having to large waste bin by The road side is actually the problem because they are attracting far more refuse than they can even handle or evacuate on time leaving the place in a total mess ..I have written to Vision Scape about the bad roadside big bins and I hope the see sense in my letter

Those dumpsters on the sidewalk stink and are obviously unhygenic. They also serve as a breeding ground for rats. They should be removed and replaced with small waste baskets that are emptied everyday.

The PSPs should resume evacuation of waste from residences, offices, etc. The idea that Lagosians should take their waste to dumpsters that are on the roadside will not work. It will encourage some Lagosians to dump their waste anywhere.

People are more careful about how waste is kept when the waste is in front of their house and they will ensure that the trash is properly placed in rubbish bins, but they will not be concerned with the way the waste is kept if it is in a dumpster on the sidewalk that's far away from their homes. Those dumpsters will not only be filled to capacity, people will also throw rubbish on the ground around the dumpsters.

It is already happening. A mess

PSPs have gone back to packing the waste. Visionscape provides the infrastructure (landfills,, bins, transfer loading stations etc). See here http://www.cleanerlagos.org/psp-intervention-scheme/
for the PSP in your area
