President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the National Executive Committee NEC of All Progressives Congress (APC) to grant waivers to members of the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun led National Working Committee NWC who wishes to seek reelection.

The president gave this directive on Tuesday in Abuja at the commencement of the emergency NEC meeting of the APC.

I think the party should be supreme and shouldn't be taking orders from the president and governors.

How would our democracy develop if the political party leaders are at the beck and call of elected office holders?

When will a political party in Nigeria be able to sanction even the president like we had in South Africa?

Let's make our institutions strong and not making strong men

seems to be confused here. Today is Monday and we are already reading news about the President saying something on Tuesday and besides, the President is out of the country. So indeed, If Lai Mohammed was quoted, it would have been understood but this one. . . hmmm
