A senator of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Shehu Sani has called for thorough investigation into allegations that the party's funds were misappropriated by the outgoing administration of national chairman John Odigie-Oyegun.

In a message posted on his Facebook page on Sunday,Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts noted that for the party to maintain its image of 'saintliness', the matter must not be swept under the carpet.

"The allegations of financial misappropriation in the ruling party as published in the national dailies today is serious.It should be properly & orderly investigated for the party apparatchik to maintain their sainthood or angelic aura.

"The civil war is moving from the low scale use of grenades & rifles to launch of cruise & ballistic missiles.Again,I commend the President,the Jagaban,the lawmakers and all those who insist on abiding by the constitution of the party.,"he said.
