Paying the fine to NCC is unfair. 50% of that money ought to be paid to subscribers who suffer from the unsolicited messages. Unless that is done, this is not a welcome development.

How can I be disturbed by messages while NCC gets 500k?

Hahaha. Yhu dey mind their dumb ass.

Aitel will jxt b calling me like we are having some kinda affair.

Nigeria should learn from the US. Register your phone number on www.donotcall.gov
After registering and you receive any stupid call or text, just document it and take the stupid company or individual to court, it is $1000 per call you will get.

Within 60seconds I do receive about 28 messages from glo that my glo game store has stopped, something I never subscribed too,the message will be coming in and count to 30 or more.
Same goes to Mtn.
Whenever am typing, their message to subscribe to a plan will just come in a flash.
I'll calm down and press cancel, yet I'll receive message again to confirm the cancellation.

Ncc aren't doing their job.

They now send messages right after receiving a call, rather than cut the call, you end up mistakenly clicking yes and subscribing to an unbeneficial cause..
.Dat's very irritating, have been a victim of dat on many occassions irrespective of d fact dat am on d so called DND

So you also noticed those Theif, they just send you after call, so u have no option than to press OK. God punish this wicked MTN and Etisalat.
Re: "Nigeria Telecom Operators Will Now Pay N500,000 For Unsolicited Messages" - NCC by Josnac(m): 9:40am On Apr 12, 2018
Airtel doesn't seem to respect the DND policy.
I've activated it and yet I get their calls every week.
On Tuesday, they called with 08127577220..which I didn't pick..
Then on Wednesday, they called with 08127577221.

Their pattern is to change the number each time so that even if you blocked the previous one with an app like truecaller, the next numbers will continue to dodge the app since its not blocked there.

Its really painful expecting an important call only to meet this trash most times.
NCC should wake up, empower the subscribers to be eligible for a substantial financial settlement once these telcos err and let's see if these trash won't stop.

9Mobile is worse off... There promotional messages are too much. Don't know how to stop all those.

They have a special juju that even unlocks your phone to send these messages. You can see how easy one can confirm acceptance for a phone in your pocket or handbag with ''OK" pressed .

I have my mother's phone and the number of credit-draining subscriptions I discovered there were mind-numbing. Most were totally unrelated to her lifestyle (daily Psalms ferchrissakes!) and these must have been innocently entered into in the above manner.

A pox on their houses!
