Iwas sold two plots of land in Lagos, by a Lagos base lawyer in late 2007 i completed the payment in 2008 hence went to Lagos state Lands to get the title, upon paying for the search and land confirmation certificate, i was told by the Lagos state official and even stated on the confirmation certificate that the land fell under ''Pedro Revocation". Though a novice at the point of purchase, i got back to the seller for a refund of my money, uptil now, both land and money have not being given. The lawyer has relocated from his residence and office to unknown destination, stopped picking his call and threats are being made on my life as a result of this.
My lawyer, before payments were made, verified the court judgement on the said parcel at the court in Ikeja where judgement was made transfering the lands to the Lawyer's Cohorts from the families squarting on the land, as the court judgement was the only document provided. What broke the camels back was the change of land from one location to the other and the payment for different surveys.

This goes to show there is disparity between judiciary and Government decision on Land matters.

The Lawyers are perfect and they are difficult to get the money back from. The mistake you made is that you should have sick for advice before making any payment and also you should have verified from the Lands / Government before making payment at all. Now that you have made a mistake, my advice for you is to take is very easy by just going to Lagos State mediation Centre to call The Lawyer, yourself and other parties to gether and resolved it for you. If there is any money to be paid, it you not be paid to you but the Lawyer should write a statement with the Lagos Statement Ministry of Justice - Medication Centre that He will pay the money back at a stipulated date of which you will come and collect your money from The Lagos State Mediation Centre - Alausa Ikeja. I and others are victims of land scam. We listened to a Yinka Ayefele programme (Opeyemi @ Fresh FM Ibadan) in December 2021 during which he brought a land seller ( Mr Tosin Shittu of Design Bricks Homes and Property Ibadan). The man promised instant allocation and some other benefits. He took us to a nice estate and we were attracted and paid for plot of land. After the payment, he refused to physically allocate the land. After six months of dribbling, we demanded for a refund. We reported him at Public Complaints Commission, he was summoned and asked to refund the money. Till this moment, the guy and his company has refused to refund the money. People should be wary of real estate agent/scammers on radio. Please advise us on what to do to get our money back. Thank you.
