Nigerian Army Is Fair To Ethnic Groups by AmuDimpka: 12:18pm On Apr 16, 2018 |
The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to a news making the rounds in the social media alleging the Nigerian Army discrimination and denial of some ethnic groups the rights to be recruited into the Nigerian Army in the ongoing nation wide recruitment exercise. The Nigerian Army wishes to state categorically that the allegation is not only untrue but unfounded and unsubstantiated. This is the handy work of unscrupulous elements attempting to drag the good name of the Army into the mud. For avoidance of doubt and to put the record straight, the Nigerian Army wishes to state that every eligible Nigerians are qualified to be recruited into the Nigerian Army providing such individual meet the set down standard meant for the recruitment. That the Nigerian Army would ever remain apolitical in the discharge of its constitutional roles in aid of civil authority. Furthermore, no state of the Federation including Adamawa State that would be exempted as alleged by the mischief makers. All the candidates for the recruitment exercise from Demsa, Numan, Lamurde and Girei Local Government Areas are currently participating in the ongoing recruitment exercise like any other candidates. The Nigerian Army wish to advised all well meaning citizens to disregard such an unfounded allegation which is an imagination of the writer. The allegation that the Nigerian Army selected a particular ethnic group from the South Eastern part of the country is completely false and has no bases. It is important to note that the Nigerian Army does not support any religion or tribe. The Army operates as an entity no matter your tribe or religion. Therefore, there is no iota of truth in the said allegation. The Nigerian Army once again stated its total commitment in protecting the sovereignty of the nation as well as carrying out its constitutional roles according to the constitution. https://etimes.com.ng/nigerian-army-is-fair-to-ethnic-groups/ 1 Like 1 Share |

Why has it taken more than 40 years for a particular ethnic group to become Chief of Army staff? 5 Likes 1 Share |

There is one examples that exposes the Nigerian Army as a highly biased, sectional and unfair organization. On the 15th of September last year, the day that operation Python dance was to officially start. The Nigerian Army pronounced IPOB, a militant terrorist organization, because the Army said IPOB attacked them with stick and stones and tried to snatch a gun. When it came to operation Cat Race and the Herdsmen, over 10 Army personell were shot and killed in the picture below by suspected Herdsmen. The Army did not say anything. So the Army goes to Igbo land and calls one group(IPOB) a terrorist group because of 'sticks and stones' so that they can use maximum force on the group. But the same Nigerian Army goes to another place, get killed by armed Fulani herders, but the Army keeps quiet? So that maximum will not be used against armed killers.

They will tell you that progression in the army has to do with seniority and professionalism...but TY Danjuma was promoted twice so the north could have their quota in the 70s... Any country that lives in deceit don't always progress. 2 Likes |

Buhari has destroyed every institution he inherited. See what has become of the military. To think that some youths are thinking of entrusting another 4yrs of their future to this man makes me wonder what sort of spell they have cast on them. 2 Likes |
