Local Government election is a charade in Nigeria...Has any opposition anywhere in Nigeria ever won any LG election? Even the one that mistakenly happened in Lagos (when Obanikoro's son returned elected) was overturned by the court.

So i laughed when someone was threatening that PDP will lose that LG, it can't work...LG elections in Nigeria has nw bn turned into normal political appointment...the Governor chooses whoever he likes, writes the election results in his bedroom, and announces their names to the electorates...Chikena.

Until INEC starts conducting LG Polls, there is no way i will ever go out and vote any local government candidate...an absolute waste of time and energy.

Speaking the truth is regarded as anti party in PDP? Definitely, Nigerians need to bury the reminant of PDP in Nigeria.

I will implore you to write a formal letter to PDP national chairman, Uche Secondus informing him what the son of the Monarch has done and why free, fair and credible primary should be the order of the day. such issues came up in Delga ward10 and we called on the 17 exco's and 17 elders, put up a later so that they signed it and take a copy to the Deputy Governor, commissioner of social rehabilitation, Assembly member, L.G.A party Chairman also to the State party chairman this is the way to speak your mind if your with our party PDP and don't forget that the Governor suspended the primary that was suppose to hold today in Degema because of a sound of pissle in one of the L.G.A's community so i strongly faith that you are coming from the other side.

ONELGA, is too volatile a place to be hijacking and handpicking elections candidates before the primaries of the party.

That somebody is the chairman of the party doesn't confer on him the power to singlehandedly handpick all counselors and chairman of his LGA.

If somebody did same to him when he was rising politically, he would have cried out for oppression and injustice.

The truth is that the duo of PDP Chairman in collusion with the estranged brother of the counsellorship candidate, Uche Nnam Obi, are afraid of the force which the young aspirant, Obi Michael Nnamdi, pulled today, hence they couldn't even appear to address the people or present their candidate, but claimed they had disqualified him.

How do you disqualify somebody whom you screened and certified? This is nothing but a charade, a mockery and rape of Democratic ideals.

Observers have it on record, that the OMN GROUP, as the massive supporters of the aspirant are recognized, may mark the birth of a strong political force in ONELGA, which if not handled carefully, may play into the hands of desperate opposition party.

Videos are available to buttress their position, that no primaries were conducted in their ward, not even a visit by any party official despite the teeming numbers of electorate waiting from 8 am to 4pm.

Yet it had been announced severally by the State governor, Chief Ezebunwu Nyesom Wike that there shall be no imposition of candidates on the people in the party primaries of the PDP in Rivers State.

Now that the fraudulent deed is done, it is only fair that the party reaches out to the young man and his group and treat this matter with the urgency which it requires.

Granted there has been widespread claims of imposition of candidates on virtually all LGAs of Rivers State, but that of ONELGA ward 16 ought to be an exception going by it's sensitive nature and of the forces involved. A Popular Prince versus a lordly Party Chairman.

We can only wish for peace in the days ahead, but with this dracolian and suppressive style of leadership by the party chairman who prefers to impose members of his GO-GROUND Community on the LGA, there is no guarantee that the fragile peace in ONELGA may truly last.

I suspect, if not properly addressed, their may be pandemonium because of this political imprisonment of the youths beginning with this prince.

Forget this misplaced talk about youth/aged dichotomy, it can not solve the problem of Nigeria. Politics is played at a very high risk of survival. If anyone with an ambition, and he or she is advised against it, the result shall be perpetual enmity. Exactly my thought too. It's not about age but the system. We run a dysfunctional system. There is zero party ideology, we don't even know what they stand for as they behave the same. No character, no patriotism, no morals. I tire jare.

Bros, same thing happened at Simple and Wike himself handpicked one of the contestants (2 ladies) and told the younger that he will compensate her. The crowd that gathered for the younger lady were disappointed and angry. Even the younger lady vowed to protest it later.
